"A toast!" he says. Slughorn stands at the head of a table, goblet raised to the students seated before him, "To Hogwarts' best and brightest!"

"Here, here!" Cormac says.

I glance at Harry, who notices and looks to the door. I nod.

"After?" he mouths.

I nod in agreement. I look to Mattheo.

"You alright," he asks, placing a hand on my thigh.

I nod, "You okay?" I ask.

"It's a bit uhm quiet," Mattheo whispers back.

"I suppose."

"So tell me, Cormac. See much of your Uncle Tiberius these days?" Slughorn says.

"Yes, sir. In fact, I'm meant to go hunting with him and the Minister for Magic over holiday," Cormac replies.

"Well, be sure to give them both my best. What about your uncle, Belby? Working on anything new? For those of you who don't know, Marcus' uncle invented the Wolfsbane Potion."

As he speaks, Belby never once looks up from his plate, "Dunno. He and me dad don't get on. Probably because Dad thinks potions are rubbish. Says the only potion worth having is a stiff one at the end of the-"

"And you, Miss L/n."

"Oh, I'm sure you uhm, all know, my parents, uhm," I clear my throat as Mattheo squeezes my thigh, "Uhm, yeah, I- so, awful people, really, I never see them really," I say.

"Ah, of course. I remember you parents, star students. Ashame what came of them."

Harry gives me a reassuring smile.

I lied. Dumbass.

"Now, miss Granger? What is it your family does in the Muggle world?"

She rambles on about how they're dentists, who clean people's teeth and about her dad needing stitches after being bit by a rouge child.

"Thank you, one and all, for a most stimulating evening. We'll have to do it again," Slughorn says.

I stand by the door.

"You waiting for someone?" Mattheo asks.

"Harry."

He groans before him and Blaise leave.

I slide down the wall. He's taking a while.

Someone shakes me and I immediately punch them.

"FUCK! HARRY! I'M SO SORRY!"

"It's um, fine, totally fine," he says, "Sorry for being so long, Slughorn needed to show me something."

"No, it's totally fine! Gosh, you seem hurt, hang on!" I say, reaching into my pocket and grabbing a tissue.

I press it against his nose.

"Ugh, I feel so bad!"

"I'm so sorry!" I say.

"It's fine!" he pauses for a brief second, "So, Y/n, I feel like we haven't had time to talk."

I roll my eyes, "My family are forcing me to hang out with Malfoy and the Riddles, I never have much time to make my own friends."

"That sounds rough, I'm so sorry."
