"Mama says "I gotta lose weight"

A series of "hmms" echoed through the hollowed woodened room.

"What about you?"

When it became quiet, Kentrell looked up and realized they were waiting on him to respond,

"I'm not as fast as I want to be. So mama sent me here. Says it'll help. "

He spoke quickly and softly.

Another understanding noise erupted from the collective.

"So, does that mean we're gonna help each other? I mean since we're all here practically for the same reason, just about?"

Everyone seemed to take a glance around the room at each other, nodding as they did, one speaking for the rest,

"Yes, I guess so, uh?"

"Joseph. My mama calls me that. But if you insist on shortening it. Please, please add a baby on the front of it. Thank you."

Joe, babyJoe spoke just as softly as he did, in fact he spoke quietly and softly at the same time.

Before I knew what I was doing I was sitting on Joseph's bed, hugging him.

"I see you, baby Joe."
