Dr. Lewis

The truck sat at Long John Silver's across the street from the old Cubs parking lot. He sat there, gripping the steering wheel as his knuckles turned white. He could feel the anger return. Still she stayed after the way he treated her. Still she stayed after she knew he was no good. His eyes narrowed as the squad car he knew to be his pulled in and next to a waiting maroon car.

He got out the car and leaned his head into the window of the backseat. The woman stepped out the car. There was words exchanged. Heated words. He could see their twisted up faces from over here. She wasn't Cia so who the hell was she? Sweet and juicy Cia. He missed that body and her smell. The one time were together forever embedded in his mind and all it took for him to get hooked.

The woman was flailing her arms now and pushing him in the chest. Her head dropped and he could tell she was crying. He wrapped his arms around her to console her for a few seconds then returned to his car to drive way. The woman watched him leave then climbed back into her car. Slowly he released the wheel.

Why should he have a double life and hurt the woman that was desired. The maroon car pulled away with him following. She headed down Knoxville and he would take her by the exit. The light turned green and he pressed down on the gas, clipping the back end of her car. She lost control of the car and spun into the expressway exit. He could hear her and a baby yell as he drove off. He looked back into the rearview mirror just in time to see the eighteen wheeler truck coming around the bend, blaring his horn. The impact of the crash sounded like thunder to match the pounding of his heart. Now the truth will be known. She will see that he kept them a secret and she no longer belong with him.
