Levi stared in horror, as anyone would seeing themselves brutally murder someone. Erwin turned the TV off and Levi looked at him. "We don't torture the test subjects for fun, we're just trying to find their weaknesses. But you shouldn't feel bad for them, as they act just as monstrous as you did in that video."
Levi thought about it, and Erwin had a point. He blew his lips out frustratedly and they both stood up. Levi followed Erwin back to where the other zomheads were. Erwin forgot to blindfold him, and Levi didn't say anything. They stopped at a room labeled "TS-2" and all the zomheads stepped out. They hooted and cheered with victor as Erwin cuffed them and led them back to their original cell.
The room was labeled "ZH-4". Levi wondered if ZH stood for zomheads, and if that were true--why was there a four after it? Were there other zomheads they weren't being told about? Erwin took the blindfolds and cuffs off of the other zomheads and shut the door behind them. Levi began to walk inside, but Erwin grabbed him tightly by the arm. He pulled Levi to a spot next to him and leaned down to his ear.
"Stay close to me." He whispered, his voice sending tingles down Levi's spine. He wanted to disobey Erwin and go inside anyway, but something made him stay.
The zomheads began catching Farlan up with everything that had happened, and the two boys slipped away from the room. Erwin blindfolded him this time, but he didn't cuff him. When Levi was allowed to see again, he gasped in awe. He was outside, in the real world. For the first time in what felt like forever, he was presented to the light. But very soon, that happiness died down when he began to itch all over. He reached to itch himself but Erwin stopped him, reminding him of his sharp nails.
Levi grumbled and cringed at the itching. Erwin noticed his discomfort and towered over him, casting his shadow along the grass. Levi immediately sighed in relief and leaned back on Erwin, relishing in the shade. Erwin retrieved Levi an umbrella to shield away the sun, and then they continued walking. Levi gaped when Erwin opened the fence, letting Levi leave the base completely. Erwin handed Levi a map.
"I want you to follow this map to this location," He pointed at a red dot. "And don't return to this base. Do you understand?" Erwin asked. Levi was confused, why was Erwin sending him away on his own? Did he really trust him that much?
"I'll be there before you know it. Now go." Erwin commanded. Levi felt compelled to listen, almost as if he had no control over his body from Erwins' simple command. So he left. He walked for a few minutes before he heard a soldier scream in agony. He told himself to continue walking, to not disobey Erwin. But another groan had him worrying about the zomheads, and he ran back to the base.

If Erwin only had zombie soldiers, nurses, etc., none of this would be a problem. But of course, he recruited humans. Zombies had infiltrated the base and were ripping people apart mercilessly. Levi quickly ran to the room containing all the zomheads, but it was empty. He felt despair crawl through until someone shouted for him.
"Levi!! Over here!" Farlan called.
Levi whipped his head over and quickly accelerated, catching up with the zomheads. They all ran as they watched people die left and right. Levi wondered if his principal, Ms. Zoë had made it out. Levi searched everywhere for Erwin, even abandoning the zomheads a few times. He eventually gave up and lead the zomheads down a hallway blindly. He had flashbacks from the day the apocalypse started, and if he was able to, he would've cried.
They eventually turned a corner to an open door, leading to a dark room. There was an attic, which confused Levi. An attic in an underground base? He tugged on the string and stairs came down quickly. They all stared at eachother uncertainly. After accepting this was their only hope out, the zomheads quickly scrambled up. Levi and Farlan were the kast to go up. Farlan turned to look at Levi and smiled. He reached for Levi's hand, to hold it, but he was interrupted. Erwin bursted inside the room, and he looked like a mad man. He began firing wildly at Levi and Farlan. It seemed as if he hadn't realized who they were.
He got Farlan in the arm and Levi in the leg, they both bolted up the steps and shut them behind. Levi cringed at the wound and impulsively dug into the hole, retrieving the bullet. He tossed it to the side and moaned in pain. The zomheads murmured, unsure of what to do. He saw a light glowing at the end of the hallway and limped to it cautiously. Eerie silence washed over everyone, but Levi could hear small pants. He wondered who that could be, considering the other zomheads do not need to breathe. After all, they are dead.
He groaned and banged his head on the wall when he realized the only way out of this base was behind a code. He knew he wouldn't die, but what would happen when he gets trapped in here and doesn't eat that stuff Erwin gave him.
"I'm sorry guys. It needs a code. We're trapped." Levi moaned out uselessly. The zomheads panicked, but soon fell silent when Isabel hushed them. It was at this moment Levi realized there were only a few zomheads here.
Jean, Marie, Isabel and Farlan. Connie and Moblit were missing. He shook his head, he didn't have time to worry about them as of right now. Isabel sniffed wildly, and her lips curled devilishly.
"I smell blood." She says.
"It's me." Levi speaks. "I was shot."
"No!" Isabel bites. "Human blood." Levi raises an eyebrow.
"So? Probably just some fallen blood from people who already escaped."
"No Levi, the source is here. I can feel it." And if she wasn't dead, Levi was sure she'd be salivating.
"So?" Levi asked again, not sure why a human being here matters.
"Are you simple minded? Humans mean brains. Brains means food." Isabel spat at him.
Then it hit Levi. The only thing zombies went for when eating someone. Erwin was feeding them brains to survive. He almost gagged, and wondered how he hadn't figured that out himself. Then Isabel sniffed harder and backed Farlan into a wall.
"It's you." She speaks.
"What? Isabel, that's crazy. I'm a zombie just like you." Farlan pokes his finger in the middle of her eyebrows. But Isabel doesn't listen.
She wildly rips his jumpsuit off and starts untying the bandages. "Isabel! Stop! Colonel Smith says I can't take these off!! I'll fall apart!" Farlan cries, scared to see what the burn marks on his skin look like. Jean rips her away from him, but it's too late. She's already removed the bandages on his torso.
Levi stands and joins the crowd. They're all gaping at Farlan in shock. He's crying, bleeding, and sweating. All proof he's not a zombie. And worst of all, there's no burn marks.
They were lied to. No, they were tricked.
