Chapter 4 - FOUND YOU

First Person POV - Ominous (lol I'm pretty much making Ominous the main character because of all the angst that will come with it later—you'll see)

We had all agreed to Ibella's plan. But first, we had to actually get inside the building in which we thought the kidnapped people were in. It was some sort of facility, but it wasn't rundown like most creepy lab places.

I now found myself leading a group of eight people down the dark, almost-pitch-black hallways. No one spoke. The only sound I could hear was the quiet tap! tap! tap! of our footsteps echoing throughout the mysterious, ominous (get it?) hallways.

"Hey, look—there are two hallways. We're gonna have to split up." Sabrina pointed out nervously.

"How about this," I began. "The first group goes down the left hallway, and the second group goes down the right hallway. Myself, Albert, Denis, and Koneko will be the first group. DJ, Sabrina, Devoun, and Ibella will be in the second group. Sound good?"

"Yep," Bella agreed. "Remember the plan for when we come across the villain, though."

"Yeah, yeah, we knowww." Albert replied, rolling his eyes.

"We should get going," I suggested. "I want to find PghL as quickly as possible."

"Yeah, we really should." Koneko agreed, taking a sip of his coffee. Everyone stared at him. "What? I need my coffee." Koneko said. He looked incredibly sleep-deprived.

"Okaaaayyy, moving on," Bella glanced at the hallway to the right. "Let's go." Bella and the rest of her group began heading down their hallway.

"Come on, noobs," Albert sneered at us. "I'll lead the way."

"Okay!" Denis agreed quite cheerfully, directly following right behind Albert. Koneko sighed, then—very reluctantly, mind you—followed Albert and Denis. I rushed to the head of the group. Albert shoved me aside in order to take the lead once more.

"What was that for? I didn't even do anything!" I accused while getting up and walking next to Albert. I glared at him.

"I'M LEADING THE WAY! I AM LEADING THE GROUP!" Albert screeched. I covered my ears. Koneko winced, but because he was holding his precious coffee, he was unable to cover his own ears.

"Don't fight, guys," Denis spoke up in a pleading voice. "There's no point. All we'll do is destroy ourselves from the inside out—and maybe that's what this villain guy wants."

"True." I agreed.

"Fineeee. Lead the way, buster!" Albert told me, his mood switching instantaneously. This confused me, but I decided to ignore it. After all, I'd probably say something that'd annoy Albert if I spoke up.

As the hallways grew darker than before, I pulled out my phone and turned on the flashlight for it. But then, I realized that it was on 1%. I'd forgotten to charge it earlier.

"DAMMIT!" I cursed as my phone died, turning the flashlight mode off as it died.

"You forgot to charge your phone, Ominous?" Denis guessed, surprised yet worried at the same time.
