Li'teya stood at the entrance of her empty tent. All their belongings secured to their Ikrans, ready to leave the only place they've ever known. The only thing left on her wall was the photo of her and Lo'ak they took when they were 15. Li'teya studied the picture carefully. She smiled at how happy and carefree they looked. Their arms were wrapped around each other with the silliest grin they could imagine.

"I remember that day like it was yesterday," a voice said behind her.

Teya tilted her head to the side slightly, a sad smile main its way onto her face.

"We had just spent my birthday at our spot", the voice continued. "You remembered the camera my dad kept from the first war, so you ran home breaking your ankle, but that didn't stop you from smiling the entire time".

Li'teya closed her eyes, remembering that day; it was one of her core memories.

Li'teya limped into the clearing, where she told Lo'ak to meet her. "I got it", she yelled, holding up the old camera.

Lo'ak immediately saw her limping and ran to hold her up "what the hell happened to your foot, skxwang," he said while inspecting her foot.

"Oh this, I just, you know....Ifellwheniwasrunningthroughtheforestandforgetthatarevinesonthefloorandfellandhitmyfaceandtwistedmyankle. That's all", she breathed.

Lo'ak stared blankly at the girl in front of him before bursting out in laughter.

"It's not funny," she said, hitting his arm as she tried not to laugh.

"How do you work it?" Lo'ak questioned

"Mr Sully said to press this big black button, then this red one", Li'teya explained.

"I don't understand why we have to do this", Lo'ak groaned

"because I want to have memories of my best friend. Is that too much to ask?"

"Ugh, fine, hurry up, loser."

Li'teya set up a camera Mr Sully has kept from the first battle with the sky people. "You better smile; we only have one chance", she smiled.

Li'teya quickly set the timer off and ran to Lo'ak, putting her arms around his back. "Smile, penis face", she said, smiling at the camera.

She ran towards the camera, looking at the photo. "It's perfect. You look so cute, blu."

He moved towards her resting his head on her shoulder. "I hate that nickname Te" he moaned.

"I know, but it is cute", she smiled. "I'm going to keep this forever."

"Yea?" he questioned

"Yea, forever".

L'teya felt Lo'ak press against his back, resting his head on her shoulder. "That was one of the last times I remember being happy," he said, making goosebumps appear over Teya's skin at the close proximity.

"Me too," she said, resting her head on his "I do not want to leave."

"Remember what our dads say?" he asked, already knowing that Li'teya had heard the saying almost every day for 17 years.

"A family is a people, not a place. As long as we are together, we are home," she recited.

"No matter where we go, I'll be with you."
