twelve. the mind flayer

"He said he was building something, that it was all for me" Eleven told us, "Building something, Is he talking about the flayed?" Max asked, "He must be" Nancy said

"So he's building an army just like we thought." Lucas expressed, "Yeah, but he's not building this army to spread!" Mike corrected, "He's building it to stop Eleven" Will added

"Last year El closed the gate on him, I have a feeling that really pissed him off"

"Like royally"

"And the mind flayer now knows that she's the only thing that can stop him, but if shes out of the way-

"Game over." Lucas and Mike stated, "He also said he was gonna kill all of you" Eleven said, a chill ran down my spine as she told us, "Yeah, well that's nice" Max said sarcastically, a noise came from outside it sounded like fireworks, Nancy walked towards the window "Do you guys hear that?" She asked

"It's just the fireworks" Jonathon said

"Billy, When he told you this it was here, in this room?" Nancy asked and Eleven nodded, my lips parted, I could feel something was wrong and that something bad was going to happen, I turned to look at Will and his hand was on his neck "Will what is it?" I asked in a worried tone, "He knows were here." He answered

We all got up and rushed to the front door to make our way to where we heard the noise that definitely wasn't fireworks, we all walked towards the road where the fireworks would be seen through the branches of the trees, explosions of the colours red and green was hiding behind something else, Something I couldn't quite make the shape of, it was punching down trees with its arms, it was the mind flayer

"SHIT! GET BACK INSIDE!" Mike yelled just before he grabbed my arm as we all rushed inside slamming the door behind us

After a few minutes we had quickly guarded the place with bookshelves tables any large furniture we could find, The couch was blocking the door and the windows were covered with tables and bookshelves, I peeked through the curtain to see nothing but the light reflecting on the glass, "Get away from the windows" Nancy instructed 

I closed the curtain and walked towards the circle everyone had created to have eyes on every corner, I looked around trying to spot anything unusual, the cabin was wooden with dim lighting and Hopper had a lot of wall decoration, there were comic books scattered from the party, the light began lightly flickering and the dishes on the rack clattered together 

I turned my head each time a new noise was made, all the lights were flickering now and I could feel my stomach drop, one of the mugs dropped and smashed on the ground causing everyone to jump, I turned my head and the rumbling noise from outside had stopped "Where'd it go?" Max questioned, I looked around and felt like something was about to happen any second now

The short silence broke as a loud creature broke through the wooden walls it was extremely loud and I rushed back towards the wall, Jonathon got his axe and started chopping its hand, the thing making loud screeching noises and instantly lashed out and threw Jonathon against the wall, It slithered towards him and I felt scared 

Nancy got her shotgun and fired a few rounds at the thing, I hope she has good aim because Jonathon was extremely close to it but now the thing was going for Nancy

She fired all of her rounds but then she ran out, Nancy stepped back and it came for her but was stopped, I turned my head and saw Eleven with her hand out, I had no idea what she was doing but it sounds like she was killing whatever that was, Its 'head' chopped off and fell to the ground and the rest of it went right back where it came from

"Holy shit" Max breathed, It came shooting back in and Eleven got her hand out to stop it but another one came in through her other side

Oh shit

Eleven looked like she didn't know what to do until she let out a scream as she used her powers to chop both their heads off at the same time, please let that be the end of it

The head of the mind flayer broke through the roof and had one of those things inside of its head, parts of the wooden roof were on the floor and so was Eleven as it grabbed her by her ankles, We rushed to grab her as she was just about to be sent outside 

We all grabbed her arms and tried to pull her back, I tried to pull her in but it felt impossible as the weight of this monster was made out of god knows how many people, "NANCY SHOOT IT!" Jonathon yelled, She loaded up her shotgun and began shooting at its mouth, the loud noises made a ringing to my ear

The shotgun didn't seem like it was doing anything so Lucas grabbed the axe Jonathon used and started swinging at where it had ahold of Eleven, Lucas was successful after a few tries and we all fell to the floor, I looked down at Eleven's leg the 'head' was still attached to her, "IT'S STILL ON HER!" I yelled and Mike got up and yanked it off and Eleven screamed in pain

I looked up to see it was still watching us, Its head was similar to a Demogorgon, and it had teeth all around its mouth kind of like a turtles mouth, It was horrifying

Eleven got up from the floor and limped towards it, it roared at her and I sat up and backed away, a few of his guts attached to his mouth waved as he screamed louder

Eleven screamed loudly as she got her hands out, some liquid came out of his mouth I'm guessing it was probably vomiting, and the mind flayer went away, we all got up in a hurry "Go, go, go!" Nancy yelled

I got up from the floor and rushed to the door with everyone, Jonathon opened the door and we all ran as fast as we could to Nancy's car, I opened the back and Mike and I rushed inside

"DRIVE!" Mike yelled to Nancy, She turned the engine on and I took a glance at the house it was 3x bigger than the house, The mind flayer was on top of the house and it was looking straight at us, Nancy reversed out of the woods and straightened the car on the road

We made it to Bradley's big buy and Nancy got a rock from the ground and chucked it out the window as soon as she got out of the car, Mike and Max helped Eleven inside through the smashed door, Nancy walked down an aisle and grabbed rubbing alcohol and gauze pads 

"Okay, get her down" Nancy said and, Max and Mike carefully put her down against a shelf, Nancy kneeled down over and pulled up her trousers, a bloody wound was revealed, my lips parted and I almost gagged, Nancy got out a pad and Max stopped her, "What are you doing?" Max asked, "Cleaning the wound?"

"No first we need to stop the bleeding then clean, then disinfect, then bandage, I skateboard trust me" 

I smirked, "Mike hold this" Max handed him the gauze pad and Eleven groaned as Mike held it against her wound "Keep the pressure on it nice and firm, okay? We're gonna need water, soap"

I turned my head as I heard Lucas empty his bag on the floor, I looked down and saw chocolate bars, marbles, a bunch of clutter really, I furrowed my eyebrows, "Does any of this help?"

"No. go get me a washcloth and a bowl"

"A bowl?"

"Lucas." Max warned, Will hit his arm lightly and they both rushed away, "Alisha go get hand sanitiser and tweezers" Max told me I nodded, "Mike I'll hold that you're useless, go help her" Mike moved his hand and she quickly replaced them with hers, Mike walked over to me and we both walked away, "Where would tweezers be?" I asked Mike

"I dunno" Mike answered as we walked down the soap aisle "Hand sanitiser should be here though" He added, I looked at the shelves from top to bottom and found some bottles of hand sanitiser, I grabbed one and put it in my pocket and we both carried on walking down the aisles to find some tweezers.
