Both Jack and I are  embraced in each other's arms while snuggling our bodies together. His  rain scent fills my nostrils as he holds me close to him by my waist.

I suddenly feel my anger towards him fade as this new feeling enters my heart.

I love him so much and I don't know what I would do without him.

My mother doesn't speak but I can feel her excitement as she roams around the room.

I let out a sigh as the world around me disappears, it's only him and I.

I feel my swollen lips, we've been kissing for a while but it is so addicting I don't care if it hurts.

STEP
STEP

CREAK!

Our moment is suddenly ruined when a small scatter is heard throughout the house.

I suddenly jolt up along with Jack who seems just as startled as I am from the noise down the couch.

I feel my hand clench onto Jack's shoulder, he's tense, something is here with us.

I suddenly peek down from the couch slightly to see what is making such noises.

There seems to be nothing and I let out a sigh perhaps it was only a bug.

My thoughts are interrupted when I see a small figure scatter to the other side of the room in the darkness.

It's  too quick I can barely make the image of a small child but I still  clench onto the edge, I didn't want to see whoever this was eye to eye.

I suddenly crouch next to Jack while holding onto his arm.

"Someone's down there," I whisper.

"What did they look like?" he asks me and I only frown.

"I'm not sure whoever they are, it's moving pretty fast," I reply and he nods.

"I'll go down first," he responds but I pull him back.

"What if they are dangerous?" I counter.

"I'll be fine besides you are far more hurt than I am at this point," he responds stubbornly but he has a valid point.

I am weak right now and I probably won't be able to do much even with my powers at hand.

I only nod in defeat before he jumps swiftly off the couch and lands on his feet.

"Be careful," I remind him quietly but he only smiles at me.

I  still feel uneasy as Jack walks around the room looking for this  mysterious person or thing while holding his flashlight steady.

He walks quietly making sure he is quiet as a mouse while he tiptoes on the cold wooden floor.

All  of a sudden that thing scatters across again but this time into a small  corner, Jack looks startled at first until he suddenly walks towards  it.

He seems cautious at first but then lets out a sigh as if whatever is there is of no harm.

"It's okay June you can come down," he replies and I suddenly hop off the couch before scurrying to him.

"What is it?" I ask and he almost smiles a bit.

"Look for yourself," he tells me as I suddenly approach the corner.

In the corner is a small being crouched, he has a small pointy hat and pale skin that almost looks ragged.

It's trembling in fear by the sight of us, that poor thing.

"What is that?" I ask and Jack only smiles.

"A gnome, they are completely harmless," he replies before glancing back at it.

"A gnome?" I ask while looking at the trembling figure before me.

"Once  a person who was turned into a gnome due to your mother's...that  thing's power," he explains and I nod sadly feeling bad for the cute  little thing.

"Hey there," I tell it but it keeps trembling to look for an escape while its small hands clench onto the wall.

"We  are not going to hurt you, I'm June and this is my boyfri...my friend  Jack," I tell it automatically correcting myself but Jack still sends me  a playful smirk.

"Do you have a name?" I ask it and it suddenly stops trembling before looking at the two of us under that little hat.

It nods a yes before drawing something on the floor with the dust.

I  only eye it while it crouches down to draw letters with its tiny hands.  Once it finishes the words are perfectly written onto the wooden floor.

MY NAME IS BITTY.

I ESCAPED FROM THE MAW AND ENDED UP HERE.

MY FRIENDS ARE STILL CAPTIVE.

I frown once I am done reading the words written by Bitty who seems more relaxed with us.

"I'm  sorry to hear that, our friends are also captive, that is why we are  trying to stop this," I explain, and the small gnome nods before writing  more things on the floor.

I SEE, WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?

I suddenly look at Jack trying to see if he agrees on if we should tell the gnome any information.

He only gives me a small nod, perhaps this small creature may hold useful information.

"We are looking for an artifact called the blind eye," I tell him while taking my journal out and showing him the map.

"This  small amulet has led us here but we are still lost, we don't know where  the blind eye is yet," I respond, it may feel as we are getting closer  but there has been no sign of it being anywhere so far.

It looks at me tilting its head before bending down and writing some more.

I AM NOT FAMILIAR WITH THIS BLIND EYE.

BUT ON MY WAY HERE I DID SPOT A STRANGE RED LIGHT COMING FROM A CAVE.

DOES THAT HELP?

I read the words and suddenly I am filled with some hope.

Maybe this wouldn't be such a dead end.

"Can you tell us where you saw it?" I ask hopefully and he nods before writing some more.

I WILL TAKE YOU FOLLOW ME

It writes before standing up and wobbling towards the door.

"C'mon I think we might have a lead," I tell Jack and my mother who follows us swiftly.

We are led outside while we follow Bitty who takes us past the canyon and into the creepy darkness.

I suddenly don't know if going out like this suddenly is such a good idea but either way I'm hopeful.

We had a lead and maybe a new friend.
