Chapter 14: The Other Side Of Baltimore

"Open your eyes
Like I opened mine
It's only the real world
A life you will never know"
- Paramore
"Careful"

Sheila then slowly opened her eyes. She was in a different room.

"Uhhhh…" She groaned as she woke up. "Where am I?"

"I see that you're fine, Sheila." A familiar voice said,

Sheila then turned to see Pacey, sitting on a chair.

"Officer Reed?" She said, surprised.

"Yup, that's me." Pacey replied,

"Wh-Where am I?"

"More specifically, where are we?"

"What?"

"Basically, that Lily girl caused some sort of war and it was so powerful that it separated you and your friends."

"Wh-What?! Who brought me here?!"

"Me. Two young men try to kidnap you, but I scared them off. I don't know where else to bring you, but my house."

"Th-This is your house? Looks like a familiar house that I don't want to talk about."

"Believe me, I know exactly what you're talking about, Sheila."

Sheila then sighed as she was still confused. She stretched.

"Go ahead and tell me." She said, "Does this have to do with my brother?"

"Sort of, but it's also about you, him, and pretty much everyone you know." Pacey replied, "We're all in danger."

"Danger?"

"Basically, there's a drug empire located here, on the other side of Baltimore."

Sheila was shocked.

"What?! We're on the other side?!" She shouted,

Pacey quiets her down.

"Not too loud, Sheila!" He said, "Some of them could hear us!"

"Sorry…" Sheila said as she sighed again, "Why are we here?"

"Didn't I say that two young men kidnapped you? Well, they also brought you to the other side of Baltimore. That's where I live and do most of my parole here."

"Must be tough."

"Yup. None of them ever saw people like me. It's a fucked up area."

"So… What about this drug empire?"

"Oh, I forgot. This drug empire? Lily is a member of it."

"Wow, who could have thought?"

"But I'm not done yet."

"Continue?"

"Your parents are also part of the empire."

Sheila was even more shocked.

"N-No… My parents?" She said, "The exact ones that fucked me and my brother up a long time ago?!"

"Of course!" Pacey replied, "Ever since you and Rufus ran away from them, they need money to find you, so they decide to join the drug empire here to try and find you and Rufus."

"Fuck no! I ain't dealing with them!"

"Yes, which is why, I need you to stop the drug empire for me."

"...Really?"

"Sure! You're a tough woman! Where's your gun that I gave you?"

"I left it at home."

"Oh… Well…"

"But I still have my license."

Sheila then showed Pacey her license to carry a gun.

"There's still hope for you." Pacey said, "Here."

Pacey then gives Sheila 100 dollars.

"Go buy yourself some ammunition." He said,

"Thanks." Sheila said,

Pacey's walky-talky then went off. Pacey then went into it.

"Copy." He said as he put it away. "Duty calls, Sheila. Here, let's leave."

"Ok."

The two then left the house.

"And while you're at it, go find some reinforcements." Pacey said as he got into his car. "This place can be a real hell if you don't have any bodyguards of some sort."

"I'll see what I can do." Sheila said,

Pacey then drove away as sirens went off. Sheila sighed.

"God damn it…" She said, "I sure hope Rufus, Monty and Derek are ok without me…"
