Chapter 3: Under the Moonlight

3rd Person PoV

Nanashi was speaking with the Priest inside the church, all while Lancer stood outside making guard for them to have a peaceful talk

Nanashi:"Priest...i got it. Then, if possible i'd like to know what this is all for, all the details of the Holy Grail War that you could give me" His question was generally of everything in the war, being new in all of it and suddenly being dragged into it wasn't the best thing ever

Priest:"Simply put, the Holy Grail War is a battle between seven Mages that are known as Masters, each has the right to summon a Servant to participate out of the seven classes" Answered with quickness the overseer

Nanashi:"Seven...i know of Caster, Lancer, Assassin and Berserker thanks to Daniel...what are the others?"

Priest:"Aside from them, there's Saber, Archer and Rider, seven Servants led by seven Masters destined to meet each other in the battlefield for the sake of the Holy Grail, the omnipotent wish granting device that will grant any wish to the Servant and Master that make it to the end" His words managed to pique Nanashi's interest, now believing that such a thing is true thanks to the events he's seen until tonight

Nanashi:"A wish granting device? That's what they're fighting for?"

Priest:"Correct, and you as a participant of the war have the right to fight for it as well"

That put him to think, he's never had any wish that he could need granted, everything he needed was already at his reach currently

Nanashi:"A wish that i want granted..."

Just outside of the church as they were speaking, Lancer spun his spear around his arm for a moment before grabbing it once more when it reached his hand, pointing it at the forest with a smirk

Lancer:"Yield" He said outloud with a small laughter, training his skills just in case they were attacked

However right out of the corner of his eye, a figure moved on the forest managing to catch his interest and be put on his guard

Lancer: Another Servant? Well i didn't sense anything, i wonder if it's Assassin...

While he was in his train of thought, a growl filled the air coming from the shadows under the moonlight putting Lancer on his guard. The growls ceased as many shadowy figures just like the ones he fought before appeared from the darkness, earning a chuckle from Lancer's part

Lancer:"Oh i see, this' gonna be fun!"

All the way to the inside, the sound of Kazuki's spear hitting the many opponents he faced was heard, alerting the Overseer and the Master of Lancer to realize what was happening

Nanashi:"What's going on!?"

Priest:"Did Lancer come with you? He might be fighting someone out there" Nanashi's doubts were answered as he heard the possibility, which by the looks of it such a belief didn't sound like a lie

Nanashi:"Lancer!" Rushing out the doors, the doll maker ran into the outside to aid his Servant and to see what was going on, stopping on his tracks after seeing Lancer blocking and striking many of the shadowy beasts with his only spear

Suffice to say, seeing so many enemies facing only one person made him think of the possibilities of the war ending before he even had a chance to help much, frozen in fear without the chance to do anything for the Lancer
