She closed her eyes and let the warm water of the shower engulf her entire body. She ran her fingers through her newly washed hair and rubbed her body wash all over her body, sighing once she reached her neck. The soap slithered down her body, going down the drain with the rest of the water.

She rinsed off and turned the knob from hot to off.

She grabbed a towel from the towel rack next to her and wrapped the warm white towel around her tanned body. She had spent the summer in the Bahamas with her sister and parents, perks of spending the summer away from Vanderwood, Tennessee was getting tan and keeping it slim. All she dieted on there was fruits, pastas, salads, and blood. Vampires like her needed blood in order to remain strong, but it was possible to get without killing; which is a last resort.

The way she got her blood was from blood bags or sometimes little sips from her best friend, Vienna who was human. Vienna is one of the only people who knows what the Grande family really is. Of course, it was terrifying for her to hear and understand at first but now she gets it, and helps out her best friend in any way she can.

She dried off and slipped on a pair of sweatpants and a black tank top, putting her hair in a towel and sitting on her bed.

"Ariana?" her mother's voice called from downstairs. Ariana got up and walked outside of her bedroom door to the stairway railing, looking down to find her mother at the end of the staircase. "Can you come down here for a moment? Your father and I need to have a word with you," her mother requested.

Ariana shrugged the towel off of her head, quickly drying the ends of her hair and throwing the dirty towel in the hamper.

She headed downstairs and found her mom and dad standing together in the kitchen.

"What's up?" she asked, grabbing a mug from the cabinet and made some hot tea.

"Do you know anyone at school of the name Bieber?" her father wondered out loud, keeping his glasses firm on the bridge of his nose. Ariana thought for a moment before coming up blank. "No, I don't. Should I?"

Her father sighed and looked at his wife. "Joan, she doesn't know him, Stella doesn't know him, he clearly doesn't go to school there," he protested. "But he's on the school's football team roster!" she exclaimed, pointing to a photo in the newspaper.

Ariana took a sip from her mug, set it on the counter and joined her mother on the other side of the counter. "Let me see the photo, maybe?" she tried. Joan moved her finger off the photo and Ariana studied it for a moment. "No, mom I'm sorry I've never seen his face before. Which is odd, I would've seen him on the first day, at the pep rally last week," she realized. Joan nodded and turned to her husband, "We have a lot of digging to do," she declared.

They went across the hall to her father's study, leaving Ariana to stare at the photo, questioning its existence on the 2015 roster.

She dialed Vienna's number waiting as it rang twice but then her bright voice picked up. "Hey, Ari! What's going on?" Ariana could tell she was smiling from her bouncy voice. "Nothing, uh, do you know a Justin Bieber?" she asked, reading his name off of the paper.

It was silent for a moment as Vienna thought. "No, why?" Ariana really wasn't sure why she wanted to find out who he was, her parents wanting to know wasn't a good enough reason for her to concern Vienna about it so she shrugged, "No reason. I'll fill you in tomorrow." Vienna agreed and hung up.

Voices were being heard all the way from the kitchen so Ariana turned up her volume in her father's study.

"How do we even know they're in town?" her mother asked. "The roster, Joan. How else? It doesn't add up otherwise." Joan sighed audibly, "They were supposed to be dead, Edward." Ariana's father scratched his head, also sighing. "You know, let's have Ariana find out about him. It says he's a senior just like her, have her get to know him, he'll never know she's a vampire. He can trust her," Edward thought up a plan and explained it to his wife. "You want Ariana to know him just to report back to her curious parents? I don't know," Joan trailed off. "Please. It'll be the only way we can be sure of everything."

Ariana turned her volume back to normal so she wouldn't have to listen to anymore of the conversation. She'd have to lie to a random kid, just to tell her parents everything about him.

She finished off her tea and went upstairs to her room. It was already 10 o'clock and she had class tomorrow so she climbed into bed and tried her hardest to fall asleep. She knew in the morning her parents would tell her their plan for her and she wasn't ready for that yet.

(Author's Note: Hi everyone! Another fanfic on my part but I have just been so interested in The Vampire Diaries and I wanted to make a fic, using some of the concepts of the show; so if I use an idea from them I want to state ahead of time that all credit goes to them, I will also use my own ideas and be creative with it and I won't use any of the TVD storyline. So yeah, it's a Jariana/sort of TVD fanfic mashup? But I hope you guys enjoy it because I have so many ideas in the works and WAY longer chapters. This was just one. Good luck reading ;))
