The afternoon light dipped through the curtains as, with each passing second, the silence in the room became more unbearable. The air became thicker. Each minute dreaded the patience out of the mind. A deep breath was taken, not one of exasperation, but rather one that was reigned by depths of nervousness.
The tensing in the muscles caused you pain as your hands spasmed.
"Okay, so, let's hope for the best." you said.
"It will be fine," he assured while his fingers intertwined with yours. A light squeeze followed by a smile lightening the dark room, and the pressure in them loosened.
You took a deep breath before glancing at the phone screen as hundreds of comments came in the first minutes. It felt like a contest to see who was the fastest.
