THEY TOOK A SLIGHT DETOUR to Peter's hotel room so he could change into comfortable clothing, and Elise didn't mind. She waited patiently on his bed, waiting for him to finish up in the bathroom.
Her head snapped towards the bathroom door, where Peter could be seen closing it. She smiled softly, quickly standing up from the bed.
"Let's go." Peter smiled.
After a bit of walking around the hotel, they finally made their way towards the door that led them outside. The lobby of the hotel had the TV playing, catching Peter's attention.
They were talking about the night monkey.
"Okay, so where do you wanna go?" Peter grinned, stopping in his tracks which caused Elise to stop as well. The girl thought for a moment, before shrugging.
"I don't mind." She smiled. "You lead the way, Parker." Peter nodded and continued walking out the doors.
They had eventually reached the bridge, and engaged in conversation. It was mostly about the trip, but it was also like little Get To Know Me Better type of talk.
Peter wanted to know every little fact about her that he could use to his advantage in the future. Yes, he did sound like a stalker but he wanted to know her favorite flowers, favorite food — stuff that could be used on dates.
"This city is so beautiful." Elise gaped at the scenery. "Thank goodness we can explore on our own without the teachers bothering us the whole time."
"We might have to come back without a school trip, huh?" Peter smiled, shoving her shoulder slightly with his. Elise nodded, and pushed him back slightly.
Peter stopped in his tracks once again, and waited for Elise to notice, but she continued walking down the bridge, taking in the scenery once more. After a couple seconds, she finally realized he wasn't walking with her anymore.
"I'm so sorry! I didn't realize you weren't walking next to me anymore!" Elise rushed towards Peter, muttering apologies to the boy.
"It's fine, really. But, um, I wanted to talk to you about something." When Elise raised a questioning eyebrow, he continued on. "Well, I had this plan that didn't..really..go according to plan." He chuckled nervously. "So, since it's our last day in Europe, I thought I'd tell you about it..right now." He nervously pulled something out of his pocket.
Astrid came rushing out of the hotel, running to where the two teenagers were stood.
"Peter, you're Spider-Man." The Lovett girl said, catching her breath. Peter's eyes went wide beginning to shush her.
"What the fuck!" Elise spoke loudly. Peter looked at the girl's shocked expression, nervously letting out a small
smile."Surprise?"
"It all makes sense now. It barely clicked to me, like, 1..2..3..4..5, 5 minutes ago!" Astrid continued. "I found this. Night Monkey had dropped it. Night Monkey also uses the same webs as Spider-Man. Boom. Same person. Once I figured that out, I tried to piece together the other facts like 'Why is the Night Mormon everywhere we go?' and 'Why does Peter Parker always disappear when Spider-Man shows up to a scene?'. It's cause you're Spider-Man!" Astrid ranted, letting out all her information at once.
"Haha, nice joke. I think you have me confused for something that clearly isn't me!" Peter chuckled, waving her off.
"No, no! She right. You're Spider-Man and the Night Monkey! Oh my, Goodness. Why did I never realize that?! Plus you shushed her so you know she's ri—." Elise was cut off by the webs.
Suddenly, blue lights went off on the contraption, leading for Astrid to drop it on the ground. A hologram of a monster appeared in the sky, leading for the teenagers to be taken aback.
"What the hell was that?" Peter exclaimed.
"No clue." Elise let out, still very shocked by the information revealed earlier. Slowly, Peter picked up the projector (that Elise had believed to be a web shooter at first) and began to examine it.
"This thing is..really advanced." Peter stated, ideas clicking into his head.
"That thing—monster! That's monster looked incredibly real." Elise began, earning a nod from Astrid who was quite speechless. "Wait, the Elementals must be—."
"Fake." Peter confirmed. "They're fake...but that doesn't make any sense. We were there, right? There was fire, and destruction, and...Who would do something like that?"
The projector went off again, causing all the teens to look at the figure above. Only this time, Mysterio popped up in this 'scene'.
"Mysterio." All three teens said in unison.
"I am Spider-Man." Peter quickly turned to the two girls, who were tying to process all the information hehe had just received. "And I've really messed up."
"You're being serious right now? Peter Parker? As Spider-Man? Can life get any crazier." She scoffed, slightly offended that Peter didn't admit his secret to her, even when she would go on and on about the superheroes. "Wait—."
"Okay, I know you're about to ask me a million questions, but, we really have to get out of here, okay?"
"I can't believe I figured this out! I was only like...40...45 percent sure!" Astrid gasped. "This is awesome!"
"Please don't tell anyone." Peter begged the two girls to keep his secret.
"Won't tell a soul." Astrid nodded. Peter looked towards Elise's who nodded in agreement.
Then, they all began to run inside the building.
