The house was quiet as Eisa slowly opened her eyes. She fumbled around in the darkness for the water she had put by her bedside table last night. Once her thirst was quenched, she stretched wanting nothing more than to curl up inside her cozy blankets again. And she would have done just that if she could fall back asleep.
"Guess I will just get up then." She grumbled enjoying one final stretch before flooding her room with the light from her bedroom lamp. It didn't take her long to find an outfit for the day. She decided comfy but active was the way to go today, grabbing some black leggings, a soft blue-green wrapped yoga top, and a matching sweatshirt. The sweatshirt was huge on her and fell off one shoulder but she loved the cozy feeling it gave her.
Finally dressed, Eisa trudged into her bathroom to finish getting ready for the day. As she did all the events of the past 24 hours flooded her mind. Bangtan's attack on their allies, Changsub's pale face as she worked to stabilize him, and the last memory that lingered in her mind was Lee Minho. Was that a dream? She looked at herself in the mirror after applying the tiniest bit of makeup. She was still dazed after his confession and wasn't entirely sure where they stood now. Yes, he had called her his girlfriend but was that what they were? She shook her head. It's too early to be thinking about all of this. She glanced at her phone which illuminated the time, 6 am. Yep, entirely too early to be thinking about weird, but attractive cat lords.
She slowly made her way out of her bedroom, deciding that coffee would be the best course of action for the morning. As she neared the stairs she paused in front of the door that led to Minho's bedroom. It was so early but she felt the need to talk to him, to see him. She paused, hand raised to knock on the door when she heard a muffled sound from beyond it. Whimpers and sniffling could be heard from beyond the closed door. She slowly and quietly opened the door flooding the room with soft light from the hallway.
"Minho? Are you okay?" She said quietly as she crept up to the side of the bed she could see he was sleeping on. His face was scrunched up as he slept and there were tears staining his cheeks. Despite his face being contorted in discomfort, she couldn't help but admire how innocent he looked. She smoothed a piece of hair, which was slightly damp from sweat out of his eyes. His face relaxed and before she knew it a muscular arm snaked its way around her waist, pulling her into the bed next to him. She squeaked as she fell and was now face to face with what she thought was a sleeping Minho. He opened his eyes slowly, a smile now spreading across his face.
"I could get used to this." His voice was husky from sleep, which made Eisa's stomach erupt with butterflies.
"Are you okay? You looked like you were having a nightmare." She spoke softly, bringing her hand up his cheek to wipe away the tears that had been staining it. He sighed and rolled onto his back, his arm still around her waist.
"Old memories more like it." He mumbled. Eisa raised an eyebrow as he glanced over at her which caused him to let out another heavy sigh. "Do you really want to hear my sad story?" She nodded.
"Only if you feel comfortable sharing. It might make you feel better." She tried to offer an encouraging smile which did cause him to chuckle.
"I'm not sure about that but I feel like I should tell you." He turned to face her again. "I wasn't always a part of SKZ. Yes, Felix and I are cousins but my father was not the head of the Lee Family, Felix's dad was. My dad was not happy when my grandfather decided on his successor. My dad was the oldest so he believed it was his right to succeed him but my grandfather chose Lix's dad. To be honest, knowing what I know about my dad, I think grandpa made the right choice." He ran his free hand through his hair, ruffling up his already bedhead-ridden hair. "My dad was ambitious and cruel. He felt the same way as Woojin's dad. He wanted to secure more power for SKZ and he wanted to go against everything that they stood for to do it. Grandpa learned about this and decided it was best to not give him the power he wanted so badly. Dad left and joined up with the HYBE Syndicate before I was born. He actually met my mother there."
