(A/N: Since some folks are confused, (Y/N) got pregnant in chapter 13, hope that helps!)
Maori had given you a new outfit to wear that fit you better and laid it on the bed before she and Corlis left the room so you could change your clothing. You couldn't help but smile as you wiped more happy tears away, standing from the bed. You start taking off your clothing, dropping the slightly tattered items to the floor. Catching your reflection in the mirror in the corner of the room, your heart hurting as you notice the newly healed scars that decorate your torso. Quickly looking away, not wanting to relive that nightmare. You pick up the blouse, unfolding it as you do so. The lovely shade of lilac stained into the fabric, it was paired with a beautiful blue maxi skirt with flowers and butterflies embroidered into it. As you go to wrap the blouse around your shoulders, you hear a familiar somebody shouting. "¿Está despierta?!" (She's awake?!) Before you can do anything other than haphazardly covering yourself, the door is swung open by Muerte as Corlis shouts at him not to go in the room. He sees you and quickly kicks the door shut without looking behind him, practically tackling you in a hug. He picks you up, spinning you around and holding you tight. You dropped your blouse in shock, holding him tightly in surprise. "Mi amor, careful!" You squeak as he sets you down, quickly covering your chest. He cups your face gently, kissing you deeply as tears start to pour down his face. You blush before kissing him back, still covering yourself. He pulls away, pressing his forehead to yours as he smiles, rambling things to you in spanish about how worried he was and how he missed you. You smile as you pull from his hold and grab your blouse, putting your arms in the sleeves and begin buttoning the front. He hugged you from behind, snuggling his face into your shoulder. You gently pull away, grabbing the skirt and putting that on as well. "I'm fine, Muerte. Down boy." You tell him as you push him away once more. "I'm sorry, I'm just so happy to see your beautiful smile and your eyes, mi amor." He said as he sat on the bed, looking at you in pure adoration. You turn to him and gently set your hands on his shoulders, kissing his forehead as his paws reach for and softly grip your hips. You lift your legs up onto the bed, sitting in his lap and hugging him. He holds you, stroking your hair and relaxing deeply into you. Hearing a soft knock at the door, you stand up from his lap and straighten your blouse. "Come in." You say, the door slowly opening and revealing a rather livid looking Cory standing there. Muerte's expression changes instantly to one of slight worry. He springs to his feet, backing up slightly, almost walking back into the wall. Feeling the tension in the room rise almost instantaneously, you feel worried. "What's going on, Cody? Are you alright?" you start walking towards him. He takes a deep breath, making you stop. He turns to you and gives you an apologetic but still rather upset look. "(Y/N), I'm so very sorry to do this in front of you." He then turns to Muerte, entering the room and stepping in the lobo's direction angrily. Muerte's ears pin down to his head, his paws rising slightly. "Chico fácil." (Easy, boy.) His voice came out sounding almost afraid. "Does she know?" Cody snaps, getting closer to his father. The wolf's eyes go wide, beginning to tremble. After watching his son kill an immortal with only his hands and a single whispered spell, he'd never felt fear like he did in this very moment. "Cody-." Before Muerte can continue speaking, Cody drops the same leather bag from earlier at the feet of the wolf. Cody's eyes are cold as he stares at Muerte who contemplates whether or not to look inside the bag.
"Pick it up."
Muerte's blood runs cold as the words roll off his sons tongue. His heart begins to pound in his ears as he hesitates to lower his paws.
"Pick. It. UP!"
His voice echoes in Muerte's ears, as he quickly picks up the bag. Pulling open the top, his eyes widen in slight horror as he drops the bag. Out of the small leather pouch rolls an eyeball coated in some kind of crystal. You back away in terror as you recognize the eye as that of the sorceress. "It was her third eye that kept her alive. It can't keep her safe if it's no longer in her head, now can it?" Cody had some kind of twisted satisfied look on his face as he picked up the eye with two fingers. "B-but you destroyed her head!" You can't stop yourself from saying, making Cody turn to you, his expression instantly softening. "I was merciful." Your eyes go wide in horror at the realization of just how dark this kid is. "She made it easy for me. In the moment she looked into my eyes, I had access to her soul. You'd be surprised by the magic you can do when you are a physical embodiment of it. Speaking of which," He turns back to Muerte, throwing the eye at him, it hitting his shoulder and hitting the floor. "I'll only ask you once, Dad. Does. She. Know?" Shaking violently as he looks at Cody's face, truly terrified. "N-no." Cody's eyes fell shut as he took another deep breath. Opening his eyes, he grabs Muerte by the collar of his poncho and pulls him to his level. His eyes and face markings glow blue as he glares at his father. "Tell her, or I will." He shoves him back before picking up the eye and bag, walking by you and leaving the room. You turn to Muerte, who looks infinitely more afraid than before. You quickly go to him, grabbing his paws tightly. "Amor, are you okay?" He sits there, frozen in fear. "No.. I.. I fucked up, mi vida." His voice is shaky as he gently squeezes your hands. He looks at you, tears swelling up in his red orbs. "I did something very bad.." You look at him, scared of what he'll tell you. He lets out a sad sigh, closing his eyes and pressing his forehead to yours once more. "I cursed your soul.." He whimpers, his voice breaking as it's barely above a whisper. You look at him, pulling your head away. "What do you mean.. Cursed.?" He said nothing as he turned away, unable to bear your eyes on his face anymore. There was silence for several long agonizing moments before he finally spoke. "The first time you died.. I couldn't handle the thought of being without you for all of eternity. So I made the choice to put a lock on your soul, binding you to this realm, forever unable to cross over to the afterlife.." Your eyes widened, shocked. You stared for a moment, thinking. You break the silence with a small sigh. "Y'know what? It's okay. I'm stuck here for the rest of eternity anyway. I'll have a family for a good long while and you for even longer. Why bother being upset?" He looks at you, shocked and terrified. "¿Qué? Mi vida, are you sick?" You laugh, gently grabbing his paws. "No, just relieved it wasn't something worse." He just looks at you even more confused. "Why aren't you mad?" You just playfully roll your eyes. "You made a mistake. You can't go back and change it, only learn from it. And I can't change it either so who cares? I love you, you love me. You know it was wrong and you want to take steps to fix it. That's growth and I adore that. I'm not going to be mad at you for something you're actively trying to fix. It's okay, mi amor. Honest." He looks at you with tears falling down his face. He then falls to his knees and hugs you tightly, sobbing into your abdomen. He says something you couldn't understand, making you smile. "I don't speak that language, mi amor." He looks up at you, holding you. "What did I do to deserve you, mi dulce angel?" (My sweet angel).
