Right there in the room was none other than Albert Wesker with Genevieve's mother by his side. As if he knew it would be a gut punch to have her with him. It was almost as if he knew exactly what was going to happen as the situation unraveled. He already knew Claire and Leon wouldn't leave Sherry alone once she was captured. He knew Genevieve wouldn't respond well to having her mother there during the encounter.

"Did you really think you could avoid the eyes on you?" Wesker asked, a condescending smile on his face. "You've already made your presence known enough, don't you think?"

Just as he said that, the doors slammed down, locking them into the room. It felt as if it was a battlefield, ready to swallow them whole. Leon quickly jumped in front of the group, his gun drawn. Claire backed up and held her arm out, keeping close to Sherry. Meanwhile Chris did the same with Genevieve, holding her back from the rest of the chaos that ensued.

"No need to seem so protective. Your fate is sealed now. The deed is done. There's no point in fighting." Wesker spoke again, pulling a gun from the inside of his suit jacket.

Quickly, Genevieve's mother looked his way with wide eyes. "You're not going to kill them, are you?"

"What must be done, must be done. You know the rules all too well, Mrs Ovega." Wesker said simply.

Genevieve suddenly latched onto Chris's arm when those words were spoken. As if he knew exactly what he meant when he said that. He was referring to her father. When he found out too much. When he didn't agree with what was being said. When they decided he was no longer an asset and was now a liability. When they took him off the face of the earth, his knowledge died with him. Now they were next.

With a snap of Wesker's fingers, guards came into the room, armed with guns and vests. He was ready to take them off the face of the earth. No matter what it took. Whether it was by his own hands or not. The guards came in, rushing at the group Umbrella had held under the surveillance. Leon, Claire, and Chris jumped into action. Armed with guns and knives, they sprung into battle.

Gunshots rang through the air. Blood spilled and scattered across the bright white floor of the Umbrella facility. Sherry quickly grabbed onto Genevieve's arm and bolted off to find some sort of cover while the blood was shed. A guard was hot on their trail while they ran. Genevieve's mother watched in horror as her daughter was chased about like some sort of feral animal about to be tranquilized.

Her husband and now her daughter. Was all of that really worth her own security? At least she had her daughter to protect when she lost her husband. The only thing she would have when Genevieve was taken was herself. Was that even a life worth living at that point? Her daughter was the reason she was willing to hurt others. Willing to help a corrupt corporation. She turned to look at Wesker, who was watching the battle with a smile.

The way he smiled at the brutal bloodshed made her stomach turn. How could someone possibly be showing joy to such violence? She took a step back, hand resting behind her. She looked around again, searching for Genevieve and Sherry. She couldn't see them at the moment, but she noticed the adults fighting for their lives. Leon had been shot in the shoulder, Claire was by his side. Chris was battling off two different guards, blood dripping from his lip.

Despite the injuries the three adults had sustained, they managed to take down the guards that had been sent. Leon dropped to his knee while he tried to manage the blood that dropped down his shoulder. Claire tripped a piece of fabric from her tank top and quickly wrapped it around his shoulder, making sure he didn't bleed out before they could get out of here. Claire then grabbed Leon's hand and pulled him to his feet. They shared a brief, quiet exchange to only each other.

Chris quickly looked up when they were all dead. He scanned the room for the kids, panic rising in his chest while he looked for them. Though, it didn't take too long for Sherry to run to Leon and Claire. Genevieve could eventually be seen making her way towards her mother and Wesker. Chris's eyes widened and he quickly made a b-line for them all. There was no way in hell he was going to let an innocent kid die like that.

Without a second thought, Chris rammed his shoulder against Wesker, causing him to stumble back from the sudden force he hadn't been quite aware of in that moment of time. Chris roughly grabbed Genevieve's mother's arm and shoved her towards the little girl. Genevieve gasped quickly and tried to run to her mother quicker. Meanwhile, Wesker regained his posture. Within a blurred motion, he had grabbed Chris's arm and twisted it back. He screamed out as the sickening pop rang out.

"Go! Get the kids to safety!" Chris barked.

The mother nodded and turned around. She wrapped her arms around her daughter and quickly scooped her up. Despite the dangerous situation, Genevieve kicked at her and desperately tried to be separated from her mother. She reached over her shoulder, reaching out for Chris, who was being brutally attacked by Wesker's quick attacks. Chris fell to the ground, sliding back. His skin screamed against the floor as he slowed his slide.

"Chris! Don't!" Genevieve yelled. "You'll get yourself killed!"

"Quit worrying about it and get to safety! Now!" He barked.

Wesker did nothing but laugh in his face at those words. He shook his head. As if that was a laughable thing to say. He approached Chris once Agni, standing right above him with that socks smile on his face. Knowing damn well with the mutations he gained, they wouldn't have been able to take him on their own. Even together, they were no match. His foot came down on his chest.

"There's no point in trying anymore."
