If you're reading this, wow. How in the world (wide web) did you stumble across my little story on my little page?
**If you're bored already, by all means, please skip ahead to the fun part. No hard feels, mate.
Now, if you're still reading, here's some background: I started this project in June 2018 and "completed" it in September 2022. As you can imagine, I changed a lot during these 4+ years and, as a result, so did my writing and approach to the world. Nevertheless, I wrote on. This novel feels wobbly to me, at best. It's nowhere near where I want it to be. Such is why I use "completed" as a loose term – it's more like I wrote the epilogue and thought, I never want to open this document again for the rest of my days.
Alas, I did open it again because I know if I don't at least attempt to have another set of unbiased eyes on it, there is ZERO chance it will ever become something I am proud of. And I want to be proud! It's the first novel I've ever finished. Y'all have no idea how many novels I've started and abandoned at all stages of incompletion. I mean, I started writing at age twelve. TWELVE. That's over a decade I've had to commit all sorts of atrocious acts of author-ly abandonment.
No more, I say! I want to take this first draft and start getting it into shape. After some agonizing, I decided to try and post a few chapters on here for motivation and accountability.
So PLEASE, kindly readers, share with me any of your insights and opinions. And if you're more the "along for the ride" type, just let me know you're here and enjoying the ride. I am shy about sharing my writing, so you have no idea how much any amount of support means to me. Thank you so much!
