i. whatare the 𖥻 🧠 𖥦 ♡ undead ?
the undead are simply humans who have technically died, but their bodies and minds remain active. they do not have a heartbeat, and are extremely impulsive, completely driven by their id, they often do not think before doing. the undead are able to be killed if you damage their brain enough, though that is the only way to kill them. in that case, the undead are similar to immortal beings. they are able to be stabbed but do not feel pain.
the undead may eat a normal diet, but once they have tasted a human, food will repel them and they will only want to eat flesh. the undead get hungry fairly fast, it takes only 2 days without feeding for an undead to go into rabidmode. when an undead is in rabid mode, they have no control over their hunger. when in rabid mode, the undead is unable to communicate with others. their entire personality is gone, they only snarl and growl until they rip apart their prey and satisfy themselves. after that, the undead will become normal again, with nomemory of what happened during the rabid period.
when an undead is going into rabidmode, it is also referred to as "turning." they will struggle to keep control of their bodies and experience pain in their bones and joints as their body contracts unnaturally. you are able to tell when an undead has gone fully into rabid mode, as their pupils have dilated to a visibly smaller size than normal.
ii. howdoes one become 𖥻 🫁 𖥦 ♡ undead ?
there consists of two ways one can become undead. if a human ingests the unknown virus that turns them undead, or if a human is bitten (yet not killed) by another undead.
before one becomes undead, there are symptoms, but you are unable to stop them as symptoms show that the process has already begun. one in the process of becoming undead will experience pain in their body. they will then either lose a part of themselves (such as an eye, ear, or hand) or begin to vomit repeatedly, eventually throwing up a red organ-like ball. the part you lost / the ball then begin to act like a pet of yours, sometimes growing spider legs, unless it already has a way to get around. if a human is bitten by an undead, the case is the same, they will either lose a body part or throw up the small organ.

oo1. when it comes to forms: please be neat, detailed enough, and follow the instructions is all i ask! more detail does not equal better, it's quality over quantity, but if you expand on your character, i might be more interested in them!
oo2. this is what i call a "mixed media" af. this means you can use both irl and animated face claims, or you can draw your oc! ( even one of my ocs is drawn by me! ) please be diverse though, make characters interesting! this should go without saying but no perfect ocs ofc-
oo3. have fun applying for the fic and reading it! please don't be a jerk to me if i don't pick your oc. besides, we need lots of characters so most ocs will probably be in this af! please don't ghost read, i ask one favour of you and that is that you vote and comment! votes and comments make me so happy and i love reading comments and replying to them. i'm so excited for this af and i hope you are too c:

this chapter was just to give some people a little more idea of what our undeads are like! as for undeads, i've already spoken to those who will apply for them! if you don't get an undead and you wanted one, do not fret! your oc can always start out as human, but be infected later in the story c: i was going to reveal more info but... i think i can explain some things in the forms chapter! are you starting to get excited?
