Well to reclassify he knew your heart skipped a beat but he thought it was for the wrong person. He'd thought your heart did jumping jacks for Izuku.
If only he had the slightest clue about what thoughts ran laps in your mind as you tried to sleep.
He had no clue your thoughts painted an image of his lips as you tried to study. He didn't have the slightest clue about the way you dreamed of his eyes.
But you were the exact same way. You thought he'd never dream of you the way you did him. You didn't know the way he yearned for your touch. You had no clue how hard he had to fight crashing his lips onto yours this morning or any of the other thousand times he resisted grabbing you and finally tasting your lips.
He wanted to grab you and never let go yet you had not the ounce of a clue how he felt.
"kinda sucks we're the last two games huh," you say watching Ida's match.
"Yea your match is up next do you want me to walk you to the lounge?" Katsuki asks
"Yea that'd be nice" you yawn stretching as you stand up. And hand your fish to Mina for safekeeping.
You both walk towards the lounge in silence thoughts about the other running 400s in your brains with the same monarchs fluttering in your guts. You fought the urge to stop him in his tracks and tell him how much you loved him. But nobody knew nobody could know and especially not him.
The only people who knew how Bakugo felt was Kirishima and his dad and he'd like to keep it that way. He didn't need his whole school knowing he'd fallen in love with his best friend. "Wanna sit in here with me while I wait for Ida's match to end " you offer opening the door to the waiting room. "Tch whatever" he attempts to act as if he doesn't care.
"Huh Oh yea I've been meaning to ask for a while my family's going to Hawaii the weekend after finals and the old hag wants me to invite somebody" he invites you. "PLEASE THAT SOUNDS LIKE SO MUCH FUN. "Yea something to do with their work and we decided to rent a vacation home" he goes on.
"Actually do you wanna stay over tonight after the festivals it's been a while since you've been to my place the hag and my old man miss your dumbass" he rolls his eyes "You miss me being there to don't you" you tease. "Tch jump off a cliff " he rolls his eyes "Hey y/n your matches starting" uraraka pops her head in through the door "Thanks, uraraka"
Without warning, bakugo grabs your shoulder "Remember what I told you about his quirk and beat that bird for me will ya," he says "Wasnt planning on losing" you giggle

Mic announces "COUNT DOWN WITH ME FOLKS" "3" "2" "1" Dark shadow charges at you in seconds as you ignite your arms in flames and cover your face causing the monster to retreat. Tokoyami lets out a gasp not knowing if you'd discovered his shadow's weakness or not.
He sends dark shadow right back at you without a second thought this time the shadow tried picking you up. you allowed it to before immediately lighting your body up in bright flames. The bird dropped you as it hissed.
You got bored playing defense and blasted a pillar of fire out of your palms straight for him causing him to freeze and wince. "So you do know don't you" Tokoyami shakes his head. "I give up " he lowers his head almost ashamed knowing he couldn't win and not willing to Put his companion through that kinda pain knowing how stubborn and goal driven you were.
"I'm sorry but I need to win" you apologize placing your hand on the shadow's beak and rubbing it. "No hard feelings" he sticks his hand out as you shake it. "I'm impressed you discovered dark shadow weakness" walk back with your friend.
"I've got kats to thank for that one" you smile "Ah yes bakugo I'm not shocked I realized he noticed dark shadows winces after his attack.
"Even if I lost I'm happy for you so do your best y/n" your beaked friend sits down as you do the same next to bakugo "Hey why aren't you in the waiting room kats?" you ask
"I'm heading there now" he stands "congratulations on your win by the way"
"I'll see you in the semi-finals" you smirk.

"Oh, yea y/n explosion murder or whatever you named this poor fish" Mina hands you your goldfish. Bakugo lands a massive explosion at Kirishima knocking him out. You walk down to meet your friend as mic announces the semi-finals between todoroki and ida In all honestly, you couldn't care about any of the other matches only one mattered to you
