There were more thunderstorms throughout the week. Even during the day, the skies grew ever darker. Pico fixed the bathtub and Blu's sweater, but Lynn remained with Blu once they found out he was terrified of thunder. Cuddling with what was basically a mermaid, who knew that his life would come to this?

He had actually learned a little bit more about Lynn as they distracted him from the flashes out the windows. Lynn had an excessive wardrobe consisting of nothing but swim shorts, mostly the same color. And, of course, they wore a leather jacket when they weren't swimming or gliding.

Lynn also told stories about some of their friends. His best friend was Kris, and the albino demon Blu briefly met. She often swam with Lynn in the ocean before every demon was forced out of their human disguise. She was actually albino even in her human state. She was pretty important to Lynn by the way they spoke of her.

The most surprising thing Blu learned about Lynn was what their human form looked like. They had blonde hair because, of course, they did, but they also had tan skin and different colored eyes. Their left eye was brown, and the right was blue. They promised to show Blu once everything returns to normal.

Oh, how they both hoped everything would turn to normal. There was no telling if anything would be the same.

Tonight, the storm was too much. It was loud, and no amount of talking was going to distract Blu tonight. Even Pico was on edge, and the constant crackling of lightning was starting to get to him. The lights were out, so it was pretty dark.

Blu knew that Pico used to be a mercenary. Perhaps the thunder sounded like gunshots, and it reminded him of his former job? Then again, he didn't really seem bothered by the noise any other night.

Blu felt like Pico always hid something from him. Where did he even learn how to use a gun? Ever since they met, Pico always had a gun hidden on him.

So, at least for tonight, all three of them were on the couch all playing a rhythm game on Pico's laptop. They were able to play offline since it was downloaded. Blu and Pico were naturally good at it, but Lynn wasn't half bad either. Eventually, the battery ran out a few hours later and they were all left in the dark.

There was for a good while, but the thunder started again, both Blu and Pico got a little jumpy. Lynn sat in between them, holding onto Blu's arm. Pico refused any form of contact.

The ginger was left alone on the edge of his white couch. He left his gun on the coffee table in front of them. His finger kept twitching each time a flash brightened the room. His face was quite... unnerving. Many emotions passed on his freckled face.

His breathing was short and sparse. His body was stiff. Blu could hear him suck in a breath through the gap in his teeth whenever a particularly bad thunderstrike shook the house.

"Pico? Are you sure you're okay?" Lynn waved a hand in front of him.

He didn't respond. He was staring at a corner, completely silent. Blu could see his heart beating under his green turtleneck sweater.

"I think somethings wrong, Blu!" Lynn whimpered, turning to their friend. Blu was dumbfounded, and a bit frightened. He had only seen Pico like this once.

The night they broke up.

Without a word, Blu snatched Pico's gun with his tail, passing it to his claws. Ethier Pico didn't notice or care.

"Why did you do that?" The fish demon kept their red eyes glued on Pico. Blu sighed.

"Just a hunch." He whispered. "You're right, something is very, very wrong." They each began shouting Pico's name, trying to get him to snap out of his strange trance. He didn't budge.

"Dude, I know he doesn't like being touched, but I think he needs help!" Lynn reached over, no longer able to keep their claws to themselves.

The moment Lynn tapped the ginger's shoulder, he moved, and so did Blu. The blue demon grabbed Lynn and pulled them away behind the armrest. Pico reached for the table, his hand searching for something.

"Oh shit, I knew it!" Blu growled, still holding onto the uzi with an iron grip. Pico began talking gibberish at this point. His words were incomprehensible, his gaze focused on the same corner he was staring at earlier.

"Do you know what's going on?" Lynn leaned back against Blu's chest. Blu gritted his teeth.

"I need your help, Lynn. We need to grab him before he goes looking for another weapon, he still has another uzi on his nightstand in his room, a rifle in his closet, and knives everywhere. I've seen him like this once before, it was not pretty. If we can just hold him down for a while, maybe he'll calm down. Are you with me?"

"Absolutely! Ready when you are!" Lynn balled their fists before crouching next to Blu.

"I'll distract him, and you grab him from behind, okay?" Blu hastily instructed. Lynn nodded with understanding. Together, the two demons darted around Pico, Lynn snuck behind while Blu faced him directly, hiding the uzi with his tail.

Lightning flashed, and Blu flinched as the sound banged his eardrums. The moment he did, Pico did something unexpected. He dashed forward, uppercutting Blu's chin. Stars swirled in his vision.

Pico went for another strike, this time to the back of the neck while Blu was still dazed. Luckily, Lynn was able to save him. They hopped onto Pico's back, wrapping their legs around their legs around his torso and their arms around his shoulders.

Lynn's weight caused Pico to tumble backward. He yelled furiously, unable to move, and struggled to free himself. Blu shook his head, trying to regain composure, but Pico was quicker to act.

Pico threw himself backwards on the floor, squishing poor Lynn. They screeched as Pico's muscular body slammed against them. Blu snarled furiously, grasping Pico's legs and tossing him off of Lynn. Pico's side banged against the sofa.

Pico gasped and hunched over, holding his torso while coughing. Lynn managed to sit up with Blu's help. All three of them were dazed.

Again, Pico recovered first. Just as quickly as before, he lunged forward, once again targeting the blue demon. Blu caught both of Pico's balled fists, but one of his hooves was kicked forcefully. Blu yelped, and Pico mashed his palm between Blu's shoulder blades, shoving him downwards.

Blu realized what was happening, but he was too late to stop him. Pico now had his gun again. Both Blu and Lynn extended terrified glances. They heard clicking and saw Pico's silhouette move. He lifted his arms, none of them were able to see where he was pointing at.

Oh no.
