John, a successful business man, returns to his hometown after many years away. He is there to attend the funeral of his childhood friend, who was murdered in a mysterious and unsolved crime.
At the funeral, John meets up with his old friends and they reminisce about their childhood together. As they talk, John realizes that he has a strong desire to find out who killed his friend and bring them to justice.
John begins to investigate the crime and discovers that it was likely committed by someone from their old group of friends. He interviews each of them separately and begins to piece together clues that point towards one particular person as the killer.
John confronts this person with what he knows and demands an explanation for why they killed his friend. The person confesses that they were jealous of John's success and wanted revenge for being left behind when he moved away all those years ago.
John is devastated by this revelation but also relieved that he finally knows
