"WEEZY!""Lil Wayne."
Val was bored out of her mind. She watched as Cindy and Janae completely failed to win against Taystee and Poussey in the game. It was actually sort of hilarious. "Nah! You can't be sayin' their names like that!" Cindy argued.
"Yo, I ain't say shit. That's his nickname." Poussey taunted. "And it could've just as easy been a George Jefferson reference." Val smiled to herself, even if she never got to play, she enjoyed watching Cindy and Janae lose.
Poussey noticed Taystee was silent and staring off somewhere, bringing her to turn around herself and look in the same direction. "Yo, what's the deal with that bitch, anyway?"
Cindy scoffed. "I don't like her. Asking favors already, like she own the damn place."
Val didn't even know who that woman was, and she had barely heard anything about her, so she didn't understand how everyone else has. "She used to." Janae spoke up. "That's what some of the girls were saying."
"That's Vee." Taystee finally uttered, causing confused looks to be shared amongst the other women.
"Hold up, like... like 'Vee,' Vee?" Poussey questioned, only receiving a nod in response. "Why you ain't say nothing?"
"Uh, who is Vee?" Val glanced between Taystee and Poussey, feeling like she was interrupting something that she had absolutely no clue about whatsoever.
"Basically, like T's mom."
Everyone watched as Flaca had brung in a large tin, although no one had any idea what was in it, or how Vee had managed to get it. "Suzanne!" She yelled, catching Suzanne's attention. "Come get you some cake."
Cindy looked the most offended out of everyone, letting out a bunch of gasps and exclaims and questions as to why Suzanne was allowed to have cake and they weren't. Val didn't even like cake, it made her feel sick, but she certainly hated feeling left out.
"Why can't we get no cake? That is messed up." Cindy complained.
It felt like forever when Taystee and Vee were talking, and it was like a century before Taystee finally had a smile on her face and signalled for the women to come over. Cindy was the first to jump out of her seat with a grin, while the other three were more reluctant.
"This is Vee. Vee, this is..."
"Yeah, yeah, I know." Vee interrupted Taystee, it being rather odd how she knew the group already. "Janae, Cindy, Poussey. And, Val." It felt like Vee had looked at Val for the longest, which made the blonde feel uneasy as she already knew she stuck out like a sore thumb.
"Ladies... are you hungry?""Yep." Cindy smirked and instantly grabbed a piece of cake.
"So, what was that game y'all were just playing?" A waste of time, that's what it was. The only reason Val watched them play is because Poussey always begged her to, she loved boasting about how she always won.
"Don't work with an uneven number. No offense." That was sort of true, everyone knew Val didn't play which made it easier, and Suzanne had to sort of be the one to keep time.
"Well, I count seven of us." Vee reasoned. "Three teams and someone to keep time."
The other women glanced at Val for a second. All eyes on her, causing this weird feeling to appear in her stomach. She hated when people stared at her. "Oh, I don't play." She nervously chuckled.
"Why not?"
"Because she sucks." Janae deadpanned, getting a harsh slap on her arm from the blonde. "What? It's true." Yeah, maybe it was. There was that one time Val played but ended up in embarrassment, so she then just watched.
"Asshole."

"WHAT'S THIS?" Boo chuckled and snatched the book out of Nicky's hands, moving further and further away to stop her from trying to get it back.
"Oh, would you give that back?" Nicky growled.
Boo grinned. "Who... is Val? Oh, yeah. That's the blonde one, isn't it?"
Val heard her name spoken, not knowing if it was a good idea to walk into the bunk or not. "What about me?" She questioned, seeing Boo with a smug look on her face and Nicky just looking a mix between uncomfortable and pissed off. "Okay, are you two gonna tell me what's going on or are we all going to look at each other awkwardly like a bunch of dickheads?"
"Oh, my God." Boo turned back to Nicky. "I found your fuck book."
"All right, so what if it is?" Nicky shrugged nonchalantly, I mean, it's not the worst thing you could do in prison, it was actually pretty harmless.
"Oh, you fucking junkie." Boo teased as Nicky tried to snatch back her notebook but Val had already gotten to that.
She flicked through the pages, stopping at one that seemed way too familiar. "I'm in this?" She chuckled, noticing Boo and Nicky exchange a look with each other at what was written in there. "Aww, you think I'm sweet?" She read a little more, her smile instantly dropping. "Wow, really? Great rack? Charming."
"Hey, it's a fuckin' compliment." Nicky snatched her book back, now holding onto it more tightly so no one could take it away from her again.
"Well, at least Watson's lucky." Boo uttered under her breath, although Val had heard her very clearly. "No, I get this." She turned back towards Nicky. "Better pussy than smack, right?"
"It's not an addiction. It's a collection, right?" Yeah, cause it's definitely so normal to make a list of women you want to have sex with, totally normal. "Some people collect buttons or Taco Bell Chihuahuas. I collect orgasms. I'm all about giving."
Val sat down on her bed. "Because that's such a common thing to collect, isn't it?"
"Shut up."
Boo snorted. "You know what," she paused, clearly thinking about something in her head, "this here is my kind of competition." A sex competition? Is that the best she could come up with? "It's on. Ooh, bitch, this is on." Boo sang before leaving, causing Nicky to scoff.
"I'm not being apart of that shit." Val crossed her arms over her chest. She couldn't care less how much sex someone had, but she was not going to be apart of that.
"If that's what you want." Nicky chuckled and looked back down at her book again, going through it. "You can always help me and Boo set up the competition."
Val had no idea what that was supposed to mean, but she liked it more than having to deal with sexual invitations and questions all the time. "Sure, whatever."
"I mean, unless you change your mind—"
"No." Val snapped, making Nicky laugh. "Absolutely not."
