Let's Fool Your Story club

Before I start my rant, I want to shamelessly advertise my own book in my own work. I'll start my rant later on.

And its even called for, considering I can't find a better place to advertise it.

Oh, and if you are wondering, my book is gladly free of horrible grammar and zero plot. It has a twisted plot and a long story and many parts are up already. I'd hate to recommend you to read something even close to some books I have read on here.

So, please, Just take one moment. :)

The name is 'Tangled' Its humor, romance, teen fiction.

Description-What would you say if you came across some exclusive contest on a random visit to the mall? And what would you do if the prize was an all-expenses-paid European tour for two?

Allison Adams is not just the girl of every tale. She survived high school with the amount of drama that could qualify as soap opera material. Now that all she needs and wants is a relaxing, carefree holiday with her best friend Amy, her wish is about to get much more complicated. Not when Amy’s older brother tags along uninvited and when somebody she loathes decides to choose the very joyride as their getaway. A new attraction, different misconceptions, internal conflicts aren’t helping either. Her personal issues are digging their way out, clawing Allison to face her past.

Now come to think of it, was this tour really the one that she wanted, or will it be something that’ll change her life for the good… or worse maybe? Read on to find out.

This is the only place on Wattpad where I can advertise my book without having to complete a deal or without having to deal with fakesters to just 'pretend'  to read my story and don't actually read it.

Its pathetic how Share Your Story club has lost all potential in getting us aspiring writers to have a good amount of loyal readers and not just a bunch of dealers who read for the sake of it.

(If you haven't noticed, I have started my rant already. )

Its like drug dealing in there, except its under the guidance of Wattpad.

(LOL what?)

Here, people sell drugs, in return of some drugs, not money.

They play foul, a lot. It gets frustrating sometimes.

I was struggling to get 'Tangled' to reach some good amount of reads when I discovered a discussion on SYS club.

Wait, lets call it ,'Let's Fool Your Story' club. I can relate to that better because its kinda true.

So where were we? Yeah, right. The LFYS club.

So, I joined the club and saw this discussion that looked so apealing. As apealing as a donut to a starving gypsy. Now that is saying something.

I opened it and I am not going to tell you the exact details what the deal said because I don't wanna be a spoilsport.

Though I can tell you that it said they'd- wait for it- read, comment, fan, vote if they liked it. Add it to their library to read furthermore and follow the story.

Sounds apealing enough to you? It did to me too.

Well, there was just this one 'tiny' catch.

They said I'd have to read their story first, comment on some chapters(I forgot the exact number) and revert to them saying you are 'Done' with theirs.

I didn't have a problem with that so I clicked on the link and decided it was for the better. A good read'd be worth it.

Firstly, it wasn't my genre. Secondly, the chapters were eight pages long!

I mean, why didn't you write that while you were writing your deal for unlucky people like us who happened to have crossed your discussion?

You won't believe it, but I did read those chapters, every single page and commented too.

I am not gonna lie so yes, it was written beautifully but I don't enjoy that genre.

I come back and tell them I am done but they never reverted back. I went to their profile page and posted like, two more times in a couple of weeks reminding them to do their task and they never replied to me. Its so frustrating I could have punched my laptop right then. :(

So my point is, I hate fakesters. And foulsters, too.

If I ever met them, I'd be sure to kick their ass.

There were a couple more incidents before I decided deals would do me no good.

Some discussions said 'No deal' on their description but when you click on it, you'd be greeted with the golden words, 'You don't have to but if you could just read mine as well... it would mean a lot.'

When in reality what they are actually trying to say is, 'You know I won't read yours until you read mine. But this was just a subtle way to grab your attention.'

I went to the discussions that said they were up for some good reading and post there. Though frankly, I never really heard for these people asking for reads. It must be their way of letting Wattpadders know about their 'niceness' and become famous.

If you are reading this and rooting for both, then go. Go on right now and post a discussion. You'd be famous soon enough.

Then, I tried one more technique if you are wondering. I posted my own discussion that clearly stated I'd critique their book in detail. All they had to do was read mine and I'd read theirs, the amount of chapters would be equal.

Doesn't sound fair enough to you? Well, I don't care.

Anyway, so you won't believe it but from those sixteen people that replied to my discussion, only two were courteous enough to read mine. Pathetic, much?

Wattpad claims to have taken strict actions against discussions claiming to ask for 'votes'

Well, wake up and smell the coffee. Nearly all discussion have the same old line in disguise, "I'd vote if I like it."

Translation- I will vote if I see you have voted on my story as well.

Go and see for yourself. Its true.

So that is how my contact with LFYS ended. We aren't even friends anymore.

It wasn't like I didn't benefit. I have got a couple of loyal readers through LFYS and I'm so glad to have found them. It was also fun how I read some amazing stories of people who were posting stories like me and whose descriptions sounded good.

So, yeah, its still overly pathetic to me and I am not going to change my opinion anytime soon. :D

Time for me to end this one right here. Not funny enough, I know. But I had to let out my frustration and it wasn't anything remotely funny in my head so... yeah. :P

Oh, and you don't have to but if you could just read my book.

Maybe you'd read it if you are spontaneous or fun-loving. Or just a human.

Ugh, what the hell. Just trying to imitate that stupid Facebook gag. Its so frustrating.

But no, I am not trying to pull any kind of FB stunt here.

Its a democratic Wattpad world after all. (So to say.)

Looooong rant. I'm gonna stop now. I am trying to but I just can't. >_<
