Quickly, you turned your phone off and 'paid attention' to the teacher, pretending to take notes. You already knew a lot of chem, so you were lucky enough to be placed in an AP course. You buried your head into your book, and watched as the black-haired boy scanned the room. Unfortunately, no one had their phone out, and yours was face up on your desk. You made eye contact with him as he was scanning, trying not to be obvious. He smiled and went back to his notebook, tearing out a sheet of paper. You watched as he wrote something on it, and crumbled it into a ball. When the teacher wasnt looking, Varian told the person behind him to hand it to you. You uncrumbled it, and it read:
'found ya ;)'
You let out a quick giggle, and refocused yourself before the teacher turned back around. The bell rung and as you were packing up, you felt a hand on your shoulder. You jumped, and turned around. Varian stood there with a dorky smile. You began to feel your cheeks heat up a bit, as you examined his face. You caught yourself staring for too long, and began a conversation.
"I see you found me already!" You said, sounding defeated.
"I told you a would!" He giggled.
You sighed with a smile.
"Ok ok! You win!"
He lets out a chuckle, and nervously mumbles.
"I was uh- I was wondering if you maybe.. wanted to join me for lunch? Obviously y-you dont have to, but it was just an idea and-"
You cut off his rambling.
"I would love to join you for lunch," you say with a warm smile.
He flashes you a warm smile, and you head to lunch with him. You bump into Rapunzel and Eugene on your way there, and they simply gave you a wink and some eyebrow raises. You scoffed at them, and continued your walk with Varian. You spoke about simple things, the weather, favorite subjects, hobbies, favorite colors... the basic getting to know each other topics. Eugene came over to the table you sat at a couple of times, only to be dragged away by Rapunzel.
"Im sorry about him. Hes very.. eccentric?"
Varian lets out a laugh.
"Its totally ok, hes really awesome. I've heard stories about him, just never knew if they were true or not.."
You confirm the stories, watching as Varian fangirlled over them.
"You're such a dork," you giggle, flicking his forehead playfully.
"Hey, you chose me!"
You look at him, rolling your eyes and giggling. He laughs, as his gaze softens onto yours.
"Your eyes are really pretty," He comments.
"Thanks," you smile.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH"
This yell breaks your moment, as you turn around to see Rapunzel 'stealing' Eugene's nose. Rapunzel looks so embarrased, as the whole cafeteria turned to look at them. Eugene has alligator tears streaming out of his face, on his knees in front of Rapunzel.
"BLONDIEEE.. GIVE IT BACK.. ITS THE ONLY GOOD THING ABOUT ME," he sobbed fakely.
You cant help but break out into laughter, causing Varian to laugh too. Soon enough, the entire cafeteria is laughing, watching Eugene perform his act of idiocy. Well, everyone except for Cassandra.. She was sleeping.
The bell rung, and Varian, being the gentleman he is; walked you to your class. You thank him.
"Anytime... Hey- uh listen.. I was wondering if you maybe wanted to hang out sometime? I think I'd like to know the girl who randomly messaged me at 2AM a little better."
Your face flushed to a shade of red, as you nod excitingly.
"Y-yeah I'd love that." You smile.
He grins, and gives your hand a tiny kiss before letting you go and walking to his class.
'I JUST- HE JUST- WHATTTT' your thoughts were all over the place, and interfered with the last class of the day.
