JUDGEMENT DAY

By their reckoning
The judgement day is a storm that gathers
In the darkest clove.
Of a remote time,
A stand-offish,
The lord immutable moment for the mortal's atonement:The scriptural handing over of the scroll of good accounts to the right hand;
And the scroll of strictures to the left hand:
The lord's wish be done!
But by my reckoning
The judgement day is today and every day...
This very moment
As I take stock of the day's activities,
Of the verb of past moment,
That my conscience should serve me sheepishly
Or else contritely.
For this very minute,
This day,the light shall pass out of me if I default.
