Chapter 2

Kayce's pov

I was woke up by Dixie screaming and crying. She must be having a nightmare so I run to her room and I see her crying in her sleep. I wake up her and she jumps.

" hey hey it's ok it's just a nightmare" I say holding her " but it wasn't a nightmare kayce it actually happened" she say's crying " hey it's ok your safe now just go back to sleep" I say " will you stay with me till I fall asleep" Dixie asked " yea" I say

I sit next to her. A few minutes later she falls asleep and I walk out of the room and talk to the kitchen and saw lee and Beth sitting at the table.

" it she ok" Beth asked " yea she's ok now she had a nightmare about the things that happened to her but she's asleep now" I say " I feel so bad her that she had to to go through all of that at such a young age" Beth says " I do too sis" I say

I make some coffee and sit at the table with lee and Beth.

" I wanna find out who did this to her" I say " me too because she does not deserve this but I don't thinks she's gonna tell us who did this to her" lee says " she's super scared and I don't know if she will trust us enough to tell us just yet" I say

I get up to put my cup in the sink and I hear footsteps and I turn around and I see Dixie rubbing her eyes and sit at the table.

" did I wake y'all up" Dixie asked " yea but it's ok, are you ok" Beth asked " yea I think" Dixie asked " hey kayce can you take me to the hospital later I need to get my ribs Checked out and I don't feel so good" Dixie says " yea then you and beth can go shopping for some clothes because your gonna need some" kayce says

They stay up the rest of the night talking and laughing. I checked the time and it's was 3 in the morning.

" time for work lee" I say getting up " get some more sleep Dixie If you need anything just ask for me or beth or my dad or lee or rip" I say " ok " Dixie say

Me and lee walk out the house and see all the wranglers already up. We walk over to them.

" hey is Dixie ok I heard her screaming from the wrangler house" rip asked " yea she's ok she just had a nightmare but she's good now" I say

We all get the horses ready and get on them.

" ok we have to move the cattle to pasture 12" rip says " kayce,Jimmy, and teeter on the right side, Colby,Walker and Ryan on the left side, Jack, Lloyd, cowboy in the back and lee your with me" rip says and we all moved out

A few hours later we moved the cattle and made our way back to the house. I checked the time.

" hey rip I got to take Dixie to the hospital I'll be back in a few hours" I say " ok text me once they find everything out" rip says

I put the horse up and walked to the house and I saw Dixie and Tate outside playing.

" hey Dixie your ready" I ask " yea I think" she says a little nervous " hey buddy go find uncle lee" I say to Tate and he runs off " ok let's go" I say

We walk to the truck and get in and I drive to the hospital. They put us in a room and ran some test then took some x-rays. They come back into the room.

" we have some bad news" the doctor says " what's wrong doc" I say  " well for starters she has two broke ribs and some other broken bones that look really old and she's pregnant and we found fluids on the inside of her legs she has been raped" the doctor said " we know she's been raped I found her walking in town" I said " shes 3 months pregnant so we can do an abortion or when the baby is born we can give it up for adoption if that's what you wanna do mis Moore" the doctor says " no I wanna keep it" Dixie says " hey doc can I talk to you outside" I say " yea" the doctor say

We talk out the room and shut the door

" can you tell me who did that to her" I ask " yes I can his name is Derek smith" the doctor say " thanks so much doctor can she leave yet" I say
" yea just watch over her for the next few months and make sure she takes these everyday" the doctor says and hand me some pills

I take out my phone and text rip

The text between rip and kayce
KD:hey
RW:hey so what's up
KD:she's 3 months pregnant and has 2 broke ribs and a few other old broken bones that healed a little they found fluid on the inside of her legs
RW: what she pregnant oh my I feel so bad for her
KD:yea she said she's keeping the baby and she has to take pills everyday and they found the name of the name that did this to her
RW:what's his name
KD: Derek smith and we are on the way back right now
RE:ok me and lee will go find him

Me and Dixie get in the truck  and drive back to the ranch. Tate sees my truck and runs to it and as soon as Dixie gets outta the truck he hugs her and she hugs him back.

" hey little man did you miss me" Dixie says " yea" Tate says " hey why don't y'all go inside I'm gonna go talk to rip and lee real fast" I say " ok dad" Tate says

I watch a tate and Dixie walk in the house and I walk down to the barn to rip and lee. I see a man.

"Is that Derek smith" I ask looking at lee. " yep it sure is" lee says
