Chapter Seventeen

(Third Person POV)

All they wanted to do was get lunch at a department store. With proper warning beforehand and the sounds of footsteps obviously belonging to dolls the devil hunters where able to make the first move with tinge help of the stone devil. Suddenly a shit load of them bust through the front door forcing them to retreat to the second floor.

Y/N: "Don't let the fuckers touch you, even your clothes! If your not a devil, feind, or hybrid you'll become just like them."

Denji had to save Power from getting overwhelmed while Nakamura created some distance with the help of the Fox Devil.

Kusakabe: "The dolls can only be controlled from nearby, Santa is close."

The alarm sounded informing all civilians to evacuate as another puppet army came at them in force. The Armor Devil stood in front of the human devil hunters beating down any doll that tried to harm him or his comrades. He shattered the rib cage of one and knocked the top half of the head of another before crushing two more with his bare hands.

Two more dolls jumped at Y/N. The first was swatted out of the air, Crumbling like papier-mâché and the second dodged the first hit but was grabbed by the head and slammed into the ground. Angel took out the rest as the team regrouped and prepared for the next wave.

A mob of dolls made their way towards the devil hunters until in a blink of an eye they where all cut in half. Y/N stepped infront of his team and stopped Quanxi dead in her tracks while shattering her sword with his forearm. The force pushed the Armor Devil back but he held his ground as the Chinese devil hunter jumped back to assess her situation.

Nakamura: "Holy shit that was close!"

Quanxi wasted no time taking down Aki, Angel, Denji, and Power but before she could go any further she was tackled into a wall. Y/N held her by the throat and threw a punch but to his surprise it was caught with one hand unimpressed.

Quanxi: "You can do better much than that."

She twisted his arm and kicked the devil back but immediately Y/N closed the distance again and came at her with a barrage of punches that could hardly be tracked by the naked eye. A kick knocked Y/N off balance but he dropped and swept her leg where his opponent kicked him mid air using the momentum to land on her feet while the American fell on his back.

The other three devil hunters tried to surround her but where quickly dispatched until Yoshida created a smoke screen with the Octopus Devi's ink and moved behind her with a knife. She kicked him mid air and took the high schooler's knife intent on killing him.

Quanxi however had to somersault backwoods narrowly avoiding an uppercut from the Lieutenant that could've decapitated a lesser foe. Yoshida struggled to get up as he watched Y/N slide behind the assassin and slam her into the ground hard enough to almost go through the floor but unfortunately it did no visible to the one eyed terminator.

Y/N stood up and stumbled feeling something warm run down his nose. He felt it and scoffed when he saw the familiar with red liquid on his finger tips. He assumed it was from one of the many kicks he took and went in to attack again using his experience as a boxer to dodge and counter. While most of his hits where blocked he got a few to find purchase in her ribs before feeling her fist connect to his temple causing the big man to stagger and his eyes roll back.

To Quanxi's surprise, Y/N stopped himself from falling despite looking unconscious and used all of his force into a right hook that nailed her in the side of the head sending her to the ground. The older devil hunter quickly rolled away as felt blood run from the side of her head as Y/N fell on one knee and regained his composure.
