Amy
"Amy" a familiar voice said

I turned my head to see Margret sitting in her car.

"Get in" was all she said simply

We didn't speak the whole ride to my parents house. When we pulled up she parked the car and leaned over and grabbed my hand.

"I don't know what happened back there but whatever it is I'm sure it's why you don't visit often" I took a deep breath trying to get my heart to stop beating so fast

"My therapist says their panic attacks"  I managed to get out
"That's good that you see one" she said
"I started seeing one my freshman year of college, I was a little depressed" I said wiping away my tears
"That's understandable, you went miles away from the family you've known" She said sounding a lot like my therapist
"I don't know, it's like occasionally I miss him and our family, but I don't miss feeling like the sad teen that got pregnant, then I come here and he's cuddled with Adrian, and it just brings back the hurt I felt, the trauma, and it's all just..." I took a breath as I struggled to find the word
"Overwhelming" Margret said

Ricky
I stretched and looked at my phone to get the time. It was 9 in the morning, normally I'm up way before this time but John and I didn't get home to around 3 this morning.

I peeked into Johns bedroom and he was still sound asleep, so I went to the bathroom and then into the kitchen. I started making us some breakfast like any normal Sunday.

I smiled when my eyes landed on the picture Mr. Boykewich gave me last night for as a gift. It was a blown up picture of John and I from when he was younger. He was around four years old and I was getting adjusted to being a single working and in school dad. I was wearing my butcher shop apron and he had just gotten home from school. He was sitting around my neck with his arms flexing his muscles as I supported him by holding on to his legs.

I miss baby John so much, I love the young man he's becoming but I miss him when he was younger too.

I set the table and made my plate. I left all the food cause I'm sure John will be up once the smell wafts into his room.

I pulled out my chair to began to eat but I was interrupted by my phone ringing.

"Hello" I said placing my phone on speaker as I began to eat
"Hey son" my mom said on the other end

I loved hearing from both of my mothers but it was something about hearing from my adoptive mother that could always brighten my day.

"I just called to tell you I'm so proud you" She said
"I know, you told me all last night" I chuckled continuing to eat my food
"Cause I am, Ricky you've been through a lot and this is a huge deal" I could tell she was grinning from ear to ear on the other end of the phone
"That's not why I called though" it sounded as if her smiled dropped

I put my fork down and swallowed the food in my mouth before responding

"Okay, what's wrong"
"Nothing, I just wanted to know if you talked to Amy recently"
"Uh, no" I said truthfully, I kind of was annoyed with her anyways

I sent her an invite and she doesn't respond or acknowledge me.

"Is everything alright" I asked
"Uhm, yeah I just ran into her last night"
"What do you mean"

Amy lives hours away, it's remotely impossible to run into her.

"She's in town, actually she was at George's restaurant last night"
"Oh really, I didn't see her" I said confusingly
