Lucien and Olivie sat across from each other, the tension between them palpable. Lucien couldn't take his eyes off her, and Olivie seemed to be just as captivated by him. The silence between them was heavy, but neither of them seemed to mind.

"I hope you don't mind me joining you," Olivie said finally, breaking the silence.

"Not at all," Lucien said, his voice smooth as silk. "I'm glad you could make it."

Olivie smiled, and Lucien felt his heart skip a beat. He couldn't remember the last time he had felt so drawn to someone, so alive.

As they began to eat their desserts, Lucien couldn't help but notice how Olivie's eyes would flicker up to meet his now and then. He felt like she was trying to read him, trying to figure out what he wanted.

Lucien tried to make conversation by inquiring, "Do you enjoy your job?".

"I do," Olivie said, her voice soft. "The kitchen is my sanctuary. I love creating new dishes and experimenting with flavors. It's my passion."

Lucien couldn't help but feel a twinge of envy. He had lived for centuries, but he had never found anything that he was truly passionate about.

"What about you?" Olivie asked, interrupting his thoughts. "What brings you to the Bronze Cosmos?"

"I own it," Lucien said simply, trying not to sound too arrogant.

Olivie's eyes widened in surprise. "You own this entire hotel?"

Lucien nodded, a small smile playing on his lips. "Yes, among others."

After a moment of silence, Olivie spoke up. "I'm sorry, Mr. Plourde. I shouldn't have addressed you by your name," she said, lost in thought.

Lucien smiled and said, "No need to apologize. I should have introduced myself earlier. By the way, how long have you been in this line of work?"

Olivie answered politely, "I was at the south branch for five years before I moved to this one, three months ago."

Lucien noticed a sudden change in the atmosphere when he revealed to her that he was the proprietor of the business. "Do you mind telling me why you asked for the transfer?" he inquired with interest.

Olivie murmured in response, "It's not too far from here to where I live, it's even nearer to Plourde Company's Central Office."

As they finished their desserts, Lucien made a decision. He needed to know more about Olivie and get closer to her, despite knowing it was risky. "Olivie," he said, unable to resist his urge, "Would you like to transfer to the central office of Plourde Company?"

Olivie hesitated before nodding knowing that this is not a request but a command, She was aware that only the closest and most trusted people of the Plourde family worked at the central office.

"Be in my office first thing in the morning, Olivie," Lucien commanded. "Yes, sir," Olivie responded before returning to the kitchen.

As Lucien left the restaurant, he called HR and ordered Olivie's transfer to the central office, with her first day starting the next day.

Lucien stepped out into the night, calling out a single name. "Renard."Renard Labelle, one of Lucien's most loyal vampire allies, emerged from the shadows. "What can I do for you, Master?" he asked in a respectful tone.

Lucien addressed his troops, "Send some men to keep an eye on Ms. Renaud and make sure she's safe, but don't let her know what you're up to." His thoughts were still focused on Olivie as he spoke.
