It was a dumb assembly really. They were adults and having some sort of homecoming thing going on for no reason. Felix wasn't even sure what was going on, he really wasn't paying attention.
It was some speaker that was talking about all sorts of things that Felix didn't care about. The Australian looked around the gym, sighing at the fact that it sort of felt like he was back in high school. He hated thinking about high school.
Jeongin was beside him, but the younger was too busy texting his boyfriend that was on the other side of the gym, to talk to Felix at all. The Australian didn't really mind too much. He always tried not to mind that his friends were all in relationships. And for once, he really didn't feel even slightly jealous.
He would've played around on his phone, but he had no games and he had already scrolled through his Instagram feed twice. He looked around the room, spotting one student asleep and another drifting off, me too. His eyes continued scanning until they suddenly stopped. He tilted his head, knowing he was staring, but he couldn't find it in himself to pull his eyes away. He watched the way Changbin had laughed at something Sunghoon said. He watched the way Jake said something that caused Changbin to laugh a bit harder, covering his mouth because he had to be quiet. And Felix found himself frowning for a moment because he had to admit, Changbin had a nice smile.
Felix watched the way Changbin calmed down. He watched the way the olders eyes began to wander. He watched as Changbin's gaze locked onto him and- oh my god, Changbin was looking at him.
Felix's eyes widened, he'd been caught staring. And the worst part was, even after being caught, he couldn't manage to tear his eyes away. Changbin furrowed his eyebrows as he smiled at the Australian and the younger male panicked for a moment, forcing himself to look away for a moment, closing his eyes and taking a deep breath because what the hell did he just see? Felix looked back at Changbin, watching the other pull out his phone, type something on it, and then looking back at Felix, still smiling.
Felix tore his eyes away again to check his phone, figuring out the older probably texted him. And he was right, have you blinked? Felix replied, huh? Changbin's response came seconds later, you were staring there buddy. Felix cringed, no, I wasn't.
And that's how Felix stopped being bored during the assembly. All because of Changbin, like always.
And the worst part was, Felix caught himself nearly smiling at some of the things the older said. He had told the foreigner about what Sunghoon and Jake said, to which he laughed, but then Changbin had added a comment that was funny and Felix refused to laugh at it. It would be too much for him. Even if he had already chuckled at something the older had said before.
Felix tried to look for Changbin through the mass of people leaving after the assembly. And then what he was doing suddenly clicked and he panicked, turned around, and made his way back to his dorm. He shook his head to himself. Ridiculous. Felix felt so ridiculous.
In his dorm, Felix played some videos of Markiplier playing some scary games, trying to figure out what he was supposed to do. He didn't want to believe what had happened during the assembly, had actually happened. He barely even really knew Changbin didn't he? He'd only just begun to sort of get close to the older, was still in the process of getting close to Changbin.
He laid back on his bed, staring up at the ceiling. Letting himself space out for a total of twelve seconds before there was a knock at his door. The Australian groaned lightly as he stood and walked over to the said door, opening it, "Changbin?"
"Hey, want to go hang out?" The older said, confusing the blonde.
"I kind of just wanted to stay in my room for the day," Felix hummed.
