it's new years eve and the mini friend group decided to hangout at the beach later at night. i'm currently with hanni as we're shopping for cute outfits to wear today. everyone likes dressing cutely on new year's eve and since we're actually going out, mind as well. hanni wants to look extra cute as she thinks that her and eric might experience a new year's kiss. they're still not official, but who knows?

i know i'm going to be stuck with sunwoo which isn't really important or special enough to dress nicely, but i won't be getting ready for him of course. a girl can dress nicely for herself too. what if i meet my soulmate at the beach? there's always those type of chances.

speaking of sunwoo, i've been hanging out with him these past few weeks. i think him and i have build an actual bond. he hasn't left my side at all. it's like he's a really clingy friend. i can't wait until he gets a girlfriend, so he can cling onto someone else besides me.

"mimi! look at this!" hanni scans through a long, spaghetti strap, gold dress. i stare at it and it's completely mesmerizing. "woah," i'm speechless as i grab onto one end as she has the other. "you should totally get this, hanni." my eyes are still on the dress.

"no, no! this one's for you! it would match your highlights." she argues. i chuckle, "if you insist." i get the dress in my arms as i give her a short timing hug.

hanni ends up also finding a long, spaghetti strap dress, but hers is light pink. after we finish shopping for dresses and heels, we head back to my place where we'll be getting ready at.

it's already nine-thirty pm and we're done with our makeup and hair. i decided to put my hair into a bun leaving a few strands of my highlights sticking out nicely with my bangs neatly laid on my forehead. meanwhile, hanni straightened her hair, leaving it styled down since she has beautiful long hair.

"are we meeting up there or is eric picking us up?" i ask hanni as we're putting on our heels. "eric is picking us up, but i believe sunwoo is meeting us over there. so, he'll get there on his own." she answers me. i nod after she explains and now we're done placing on our heels correctly.

"oh! he's here." hanni informs loudly. we grab our wallets that match with our dresses and walk out of my place. we see eric's parked car and he immediately gets out of the drivers seat to open up the passenger door for hanni and the back door for me. we thank him as we enter his car inside and soon enough, he's behind the wheel making his way to the beach.

when we finally get there, we start walking down the pier. the scenery reminds me of the day soobin and i broke up. even though it's been a few weeks, i feel like i've made progress in healing. i thank sunwoo for it because he's been a huge distraction in a good way. i really needed a friend and i think our hangouts have shown a friendship that has evolved between us.

as i'm thinking about this, eric suddenly mentions how sunwoo just got here. i volunteered to meet him by the start of the pier since we've already made it up further down. i'm finally giving eric and hanni some alone time since we've got here. nonetheless, i make my way to the entrance of the pier.

as i'm waiting, i see his figure walking towards me. he's wearing a black jean jacket that covers his white plain t-shirt following along with black loose jeans. his black curls are laid neatly on his forehead and i can see his gummy smile forming when he's in front of me.

"you look horrible," he says with his smile plastered on his face which makes me take his comment not serious. "yeah, yeah. i totally don't see hearts in your eyes right now." i tease with squinted eyes. he chuckles and stuffs his hands into the front pocket of his jeans as he doesn't deny it.

we start walking down the pier together and we can feel the breeze slightly hit us. "did eric and hanni ditch you so soon?" he questions, looking down at me. "nah, i volunteered to come get you while i gave them their alone time." i shortly explain.

"look, mom! there's a princess!" sunwoo and i hear a little girl's voice in front of us. she seems about four years old and she suddenly approached us with her mother trying her best to catch up to her.

i laugh a bit as i bend down to her height, flashing her a wide smile. "hello." i softly greet her. "can i get a picture with you? you look like a real life princess! i want to look like you!" she's throwing so much compliments at once that i can't even process it all.

"i'm so sorry, young lady." her mother grabs a hold of her daughter. i stand up straight again, "no worries. your daughter is really sweet." i reassure.

"is he your prince?" the girl points at sunwoo. i look over at him and my mouth slightly drops. before i can answer, the little girl speaks up again, "he doesn't look like one. i think you could do better." she whispers very loudly that makes sunwoo gasp.

"i think i'm actually perfect. thank you." his attitude is sassy. to a little girl. really sunwoo? "so he is?" the girl scrunches up her nose in disgust after she asks me. i nervously laugh, "don't listen to him. he's crazy." i roll my eyes and i slightly nudge onto his shoulder to signal him not to take this girl serious.

"i'm not crazy. she calls you a princess? and what do i get? the ugly prince?" he seems offended. i turn my face to look at him. "yeah because you clearly have an ugly mouth. watch your tone." i scold him as he's acting like the actual four year old here.

"did i cause this?" the little girl questions, but sunwoo and i are too busy still scolding one another. "no, sweetie. i think they just don't realize they're in love yet." her mother answers which grabs sunwoo's and i's attention.

"what?!" we both exclaim at the same time. "oh?" her mother's eyes widen. "sorry, but we're far from loving each other." i laugh at the silly nonsense her mother just said. "yeah, she's not my type at all." sunwoo gags which makes me glare at him. "likewise." i add.

"you're too pretty for him anyway. i'm team princess all the way!" the girl yells out. i smile at her and by now, her mother informs that they have to go so i quickly say my goodbyes as sunwoo does too.

we continue walking down the path alone and we can't help, but laugh at what just happened. "okay, but it wasn't funny how she basically was trying to call me ugly though." says sunwoo as he still sounds offended.

"get over it." i scoff and soon enough, we approach hanni and eric who were admiring the ocean as big waves were seen and small ones as well. the sound of the waves were loud, but peaceful that it was easy to just stand there and admire the view.
