" Living room or kitchen ? " Danny asks .
" Eh , living room floor is okay . "
He nods and sits down on the floor. I go to go find us some forks.
Nothing is labeled so what I think is forks is really a child hood toy .
I sigh at the lack of forks. Then I quickly remember we have them in the car still. I venture out to find us some forks when I hear a deep laugh boom through my house.
Danny is sitting in my living room laughing so hard his face is red .
" what's so funny huh? " I ask placing the hand the held the forks on my hip.
" Autumn please tell me after all these years you got rid of the habit of dipping all your Chinese food in duck sauce ."
I made a face and sat next to him and handed him a fork .
He looked down , " what no plates ?"
I looked at him and laughed " sorry your highness . "
We ate in silence a few minutes.
Since I spent the whole $30 we had a lot of food to eat.
Breaking the silence I asked " so how's your father ? "
Danny looked down and sighed .
Great I thought to myself just great . I see this kid for the first time in years ~ my child hood best friend and I am already making him uncomfortable.
" sorry " I mumbled . I didn't think anything was going on with his dad though . We we left they were a big happy family , nothing wrong at all . I was the one with the screw up dad.
" Hey it's okay, " he said placing his arm around me , " he joined the army last year and we haven't heard from him in a few months. "
A knot formed in my stomach
I felt like such an asshole.
" When is your mom coming home ? " he asked taking his arm off of me and eating his last bite of Chinese when my plate was still full . " She is coming home in a bit I guess ."
" Do you want to do something fun in my house ? " he asked smiling.
The thoughts that flooded my mind were " sex , sex , sex , Danny is a sex addict , I haven't seen this kid in years and he's asking me for sex , what a weirdo . "
I accepted the offer , " head to my place in 10 minutes I'll get the place set up ."
I nodded , he's a pig . I know we are older now but he's a pig . Danny is really good looking and he's probably going to be really shocked when I decline his sex offer.
So I put away the Chinese food and put my little white flip flops on and head over to the Gonzales house.
I opened the front door without knocking . Nothing had really changed. Same white couches , same black paint . I headed up to Danny's room with a knot in my stomach .
