As we stayed stranded on the side of a FRICKEN mountain! Remind me not to go anywhere with Luke again. I guess I got too bored. So it's also Ravi and Emma's fault. Ugh...
"Told you guys this was gonna be fun." Luke says, now in a scared tone.
Me and Griff look at him trying to grip to the skinny ledge of a high mountain.
"What do we do now?" Griff says panicking.
"I say we scream for help!" I say, not hiding the fear in my voice.
"I like it."
"HELP!"
"SAVE US!"
"WE'RE UP HERE!"
Rubble from up above us falls from the vibrations of our voice.
"Maybe we shouldn't scream so loud." Luke suggests.
"help."
"save us.
"we're up here."
we whisper our cries of help.
I don't want to die. I mean I wish I wasn't born sometimes but I definitely don't want to die. My life may have been crappy but I don't regret it... well most of it.
We whisper cries of help for about 30 minutes.
"Luke! Griff!" it sounded like Ravi.
"Callie!" it sounded like Emma!
"Hey! We're down here!" yells Luke.
I look up and sure enough Emma and Ravi are peeking over the edge.
"What in the world are you doing down there?!" Ravi gasps.
"Country line dancing." I say sarcastically. "What's it look like we're doing? We're hanging on for dear life!"
"So let's stop with the Q&A and start with the helping!" Luke shouts.
"And hurry up! I have to go to the bathroom, and there's not a lot of privacy on this ledge!" Griff adds.
"Don't worry, we'll get you up!" Emma reassures.
"Okay, listen! We'll throw the rope down. Tie it around your waist, like the safety harness we showed you, and then we'll help you climb up!" Emma explains.
"Catch the rope!"
A bundle of rope falls in front of us and off the cliff.
"I think she missed a step.." Luke says in total fear.
Thankfully another rope came down, unbundled.
"Okay, Cal, you first." Luke says handing me the rope.
"That's the smartest thing you've said all day." I say rolling my eyes.
I tie the rope around my waist and Emma pulls me up. As they help me to the ground, Ravi hugs me tightly.
"Oh thank goodness you are okay!" he says.
"Thanks Ravi. I guess ur cool after all." I smile.
"You're safe!" Emma says squeezing me tightly. "Scare me like that again and I'll wring your neck. I love you Cal"
"I getting very mixed signals here." I joke.
"Hello?!" Luke echoes from below. "Can we save everyone's life before we celebrate?"
Next was Griff.
Griff's POV
Stuck on the side of a cliff. With Callie and her wacko but kinda cool, brother-ish person? I gotta pee, so bad! We help Callie get rescued and soon after they pull me up.
Callie and Ravi help me to the stable ground. Callie squeezes my hand a little looking for reassurance. I smile weakly at her.
"Sorry, but I have to pee real bad right now."
She quickly let's go and I run down the path to look for a place far away so we wouldn't go near there.
As I was running back to help, they were pulling Luke up with the rope. I quickly rushed to help them.
Author's POV
The rope snapped from the friction of the rock and them pulling. Luke began to fall backwards but Ravi quickly reacted.
"Luke!" and he grabs his hand before he falls backwards.
"I got you brother!" he says, before slipping. "Now someone get me!"
Callie tries to step forward but Griff holds her back in fear that she would only get pulled down too, while Emma beats her to it anyways.
"Luke are you okay?" Emma asks, Luke breathing heavily.
"Yeah." he catches his breath. "Thanks to you guys."
"Good thing you brought that rope." Griff says.
"Rule one of safety, always be prepared." Ravi says.
"Rule number two, never go anywhere with Luke." Callie adds.
"okay, I realize now, I probably should've been better prepared before I led us down the chained-off trail that said 'DANGER'." Luke says nonchalantly.
"Or you could just not go down the dangerous trail at all." Emma tells him.
Luke scoffs. "Why don't I just lock myself in a library and call myself Ravi." he points.
"I am so glad I got rope burns saving your life." Ravi sarcastically remarks.
"Thank you, Ravi." he pats Ravi's back. "And Callie, Griff, sorry about the whole"nearly getting you killed"thing." Luke sheepishly chuckles.
"I can't believe we almost fell off a mountain." Griff says exaggeratively. "Which was so cool!"
Callie gives him a weird look.
"Speaking of cool, who wants to hydrate?" Ravi cuts in.
"Me!"
"Me!"
"Give me 2!" Callie says.
"Told you. I also got lotion for chafing." Ravi exclaims excitedly.
They all pause to look at Ravi.
As they go down the mountain Callie and Griff walk side by side as the rest of them are ahead.
"Why did you take two waters? You only finished one." Griff says.
"Come here." Callie says stopping on the side of the trail. "Gimme your hands."
Griff sticks his hands out over a bush.
Callie opens the water and pours the water over Griff's hands. "Wash em." she says.
He scrubs his hands together and gets some dirty water falling from his hands.
The water bottle has a little bit of water left. Callie swiftly swings the remaining water onto Griff's face. The two laugh and continue down the mountain.
"I ship it." Luke says looking over his shoulder, talking to himself.
Callie's POV
Zuri, Ravi and Emma all say bye to Luke as he goes back to summer school.
"Wanna go bungee jumping?" asks Griff.
"Sure! Let's go." I shrug.
