out of all the people kaiden expected to see, she definitely wasn't expecting him. she didn't even know that he was friends with heeseung either, so seeing him sitting there, as her blind date, did not fail to surprise her.
needless to say, she felt kind of nervous. though she had met him before, the two hadn't seen each other in quite some time, and had only met up a few times prior.
"what are the odds." the brunette boy laughed as he went to stand up and give her a hug. "how have you been?" he asked her, both sitting down on their chairs.
and so kaiden told him how she had been doing, leading to many conversations throughout the whole night. both of them were quite astonished by the fact that heeseung never mentioned that he was friends with either one of them.
they ended up ordering a few different dishes to share with each other, and kept talking with each other. in that moment, kaiden realized her dating life wasn't just limited to the failed situationship next door, but there were many more opportunities.
jake was, just like heeseung said, a sweet, cute, and well-mannered boy. though she didn't know him for that long, he treated her with care and respect.

finally, after the appetizing dinner, it was time for them to pay the bill. as a waitress approached their table, jake already took out his wallet, but was stopped by kaiden.
"jake, you're not going to pay again. you already paid last time." kaiden insisted, but it was no use, since the boy was going to pay regardless of what she said.
by the time jake wanted to reply, the waitress had already arrived at their table, showing them the bill. it wasn't that expensive, but kaiden still didn't want the boy to pay.
as the waitress typed in the amount on the pin device, kaiden was quick to distract jake. "you dropped something." she lied, and luckily it worked since he diverted his attention to the floor. this made it easier for her to quickly get her credit card and pay.
after the payment was succeeded, the waitress left the table, and the brunette boy came to realize he never dropped anything in the first place.
"wow, you're good." he playfully laughed, followed by a smile. "thank you, though."
the two stood up and grabbed their coats. walking to the exit, they said goodbye to the waitress, and left the restaurant.
