Wednesday used the time that Lilith was unable to move to play the cello for her. First she showed her what she had come up with for the duet, and just like she thought, the pyro loved it. Then she let Lilith tell her what to play to entertain her for the next hour. It kind of hurt Wednesday's right hand thanks to her bruised knuckles, but the smile on Lilith's face was worth the pain. It was a good start to earning her forgiveness.

Once the venom wore off they considered returning to class to catch the last thirty minutes of it. But it seemed pointless. So instead Lilith hoped onto her piano and started to figure out how her individual piece could overlap with Wednesday's. They played together for fifty minutes but was interrupted by Lilith getting a text.

Riley: Are you okay? You're not in class

Lilith's jaw dropped as she looked at the time. They were twenty minutes late for Mr. Davies class. They had gotten so lost in the music. "Shit, Wednesday! We gotta get to class!" She jumped away from her piano and grabbed her backpack about to rush out the door. But of course, Cloud hissed at her for attempting to run. She groaned. Now they would be even more late.

Wednesday huffed in amusement as she set her cello down and grabbed her own bag. "Being late isn't the end of the world."

Lilith smiled. "Trust me, it's not the class I care about."

Wednesday wasn't sure what that was supposed to mean, but she didn't ask. Lilith doesn't like it when she prys, and right now, she needs to be on her best behavior. They walked to Mr. Davies class in silent. When they arrived, him and the entire class turned to them.

"You're late," he stated.

"Oh really," Lilith began in her usual tone of sarcasm, "we hadn't noticed. Honestly, I thought we were early."

He glared and crossed his arms. "Do you a have a reason why you're late or are you just irresponsible?"

Lilith shrugged. "Well, it's a little hard to be on time when you're paralyzed."

"Excuse me?"

"Seriously, teach, read the email." She and Wednesday walked over to their seats while he stood speechless for a moment.

It was for times likes these that Lilith told Weems that depending on how much venom Cloud uses on her, she can be paralyzed from anywhere to one to four hours. Technically the truth. She just didn't mention that for most of the time it's only an hour. It allows her to do what she and Wednesday just did.

Mr. Davies begrudgingly went back to teaching as the two got seated. Lilith turned around briefly to smile and wave at Riley who did the same.

Wednesday noticed. So that's who Lilith's boyfriend was. And that's why she wanted to get to class. She figured the pyro could do better. Like with her. But she needed to be nice for now to earn Lilith's forgiveness. Then she could start being a little mean towards him. Just enough so he knows she doesn't like him. But not enough for Lilith to get mad at her.

When class ended it was time for lunch, Lilith made the decision to sit with Riley. Wednesday pretended she was completely fine with it even though she wasn't. Best behavior, she reminded herself. She joined Enid and the others without the pyro.

"Theoretically," she began as she sat down, "how would you go about earning someone's forgiveness?"

Bianca glared. "Oh, so you're the one who made Lily cry. Get over here, Addams!" The siren tried to lunge across the table but Enid stopped her.

"Bianca, knock it off!" She pushed her back into her seat. "Wednesday feels bad enough as is. She's already trying to fix it." She turned to the goth. "Didn't you apologize this morning?"
