Lilith's plan heavily depended on Wednesday's plan. So she just kinda laid back and observed. Obviously Wednesday's plan involved a ridiculous amount of physical contact. Lilith would allow it. She didn't question it, didn't complain. She just let it happen. First she wanted to see how far Wednesday would go. And the goth was certainly becoming more brazen.
She held Lilith's hand whenever they walked next to each other. Whenever they sat next to each other, her hand would be on the pyro's knee or lower thigh. Never high up like she had done on Saturday though. Lilith wondered if it was because people were around now or if because it spiked her heart rate so she didn't want to risk it again. Either way, Wednesday also made a habit of putting her arm around Lilith's waist and brushing a fallen braid behind her ear for her. One time during lunch, she told Lilith she had sauce on her lip and then used her thumb to wipe it away for her. The pyro damn near had a heart attack, and of course Cloud just had to let everyone know by hissing. The group tried their best not to laugh and Lilith walked off as fast as she was allowed to.
Thanks to that incident, Lilith decided to take matters into her own hands. If she has to wait to see how far Wednesday would go, then she wants to have a little fun in the mean time. And so whenever she was with Riley, she would (with Riley's consent) act like Wednesday a little. Sit impossibly close to him and give a lot of small touches. She didn't need to look at Wednesday to feel her glaring daggers at them. If Wednesday wanted Lilith to get riled up with—well, whatever she wanted her to get riled up with. Then she was going to get Wednesday riled up with jealousy. Wednesday started this game. Lilith just came to play.
But of course, this was Wednesday Addams. She doesn't take jealousy well. She had been able to hold herself back thus far. But when she saw Lilith put her left leg over Riley's right thigh, her hand on his waist, and then whisper something in his ear with a smile; every single restraint snapped as she imagined just what she could've said to him while sitting like that.
But what could she do about it? She had no rights to Lilith. She was only step two in her plan, and now she couldn't even be sure it was working. She thought it might've been since Lilith had yet to tell her to stop. And two times Cloud has had to hiss at her for spiking the pyro's heart rate. But maybe Lilith is just someone who doesn't mind physical contact. And maybe her heart rate only spiked because she was caught off guard. Her plan wasn't working yet. If it was then Lilith wouldn't be sitting with Riley like that. But she needed to stay patient. Stick to her plan to see the end results. But boy was it beyond difficult. Especially with massive amounts of jealousy coursing through her veins.
She couldn't stand it, and she was afraid that if she was around Lilith she might take things too far in the heat of the moment. And so after lunch, instead of going to her next class with Lilith, she went to her dorm room. She needed to cool off and collect herself.
She walked in and went to her bed and sat down, letting out a heavy sigh. She's never been one for simplicity, but she wished this thing with Lilith didn't have to be so complicated. Though she really only had herself to blame. She should've kissed her on the balcony that night they first set a fire together. But it was too late now. She couldn't turn back the clock and fix it. If only—
Knocking on the door brought her out of her thoughts. She checked the time. It's only been twenty minutes and everyone should be in class right now. Maybe Enid forgot something again. But why would she knock? Whoever it was knocked again and Wednesday stood up to answer it. She opened the door and there stood Lilith Holloway in all her glory.
Wednesday swallowed. Shit. Just the person she didn't want to see right now. Her jealousy wasn't gone yet so she tried to immediately close the door.
But of course Lilith stopped it with her foot. "Well that's just rude." She pushed her way in and Wednesday went to the window, staring out of it to keep her back turned to the pyro.
