I lay on a bed in a room, looking around I saw a figure in the distance coming closer to me.
"Devy what are you doing here"
Holy fuck.
There's only one person who calls me devy and that's zane
I get out the bed run up to him and jump into his arms
"I missed you so much," I say bursting into tears
"I missed you more devy but you can't be here if you're here that means you're dead, you can't be dead not yet"
"I'm dead?"
"Surely not this is just a dream right?"
"Oh, she doesn't know."
"Know what??" I reply in confusion
another figure walks into the light
"Grandpa? you're here too?"
I hug him tightly memories washing over me
"Can you explain why I'm here this is a weird dream"
"Devy you hurt yourself you fell off a roof" zane replies
"A roof?? what no"
"That doesn't make sense I would remember if I did"
"That's the thing you hit your head Devyn your memories aren't as they should be"
"No No No" I reply as if it was a chant stumbling back
"This can't be I can't die yet"
"you aren't dead yet devy but it isn't long until you will be"
"Devyn wake up please don't die on my wake up wake up" I hear a voice boom in my ears from far away
"What was that?" I whisper
"someone is trying to contact you, a boy"
"Do you know him?" my grandpa says curious
"Oh it must be Vinnie," I said laughing to myself
"No way you got a boyfriend devy"
"Remember when you said boys make u sick and you'd rather marry phoenix??"
"Number 1 he is not my boyfriend"
not yet anyway
"Number 2 who wouldn't want to marry Phoenix have u seen her," I say giggling hysterically sitting back down on the bed
For what feels like ages I rant about things going on in my life, we talked about all sorts of things getting a few nods of approval from grandpa and snorts of laughter from zane
"5 minutes," a voice says
"We understand," Zane and grandpa say in unison
Zane looks over to my tears in his eyes and explains "you have 5 minutes left with us here, you've been saved devy"
"I thought I didn't make it?" I reply
"I guess someone didn't want to lose you"
"Oh," I say
"God I'm gonna miss you both so much"
" I promise I'll talk to you every night before I sleep"
"I miss you so much I do"
"Don't worry we can hear you when you talk to us?" Zane says a slight smile plastered on his face
"Even though we aren't there physically with you I promise we are here with you somehow when you look out the window and see the stars just know we are in them looking down at you so so so proud of everything you've done" he says his voice shaky as tears trickled down his cheeks
"please look after mum and dad for me devy"
"they do love you, they're protective of you at times I know but that's only because when they weren't it ended up fatal and now I'm here"
"be patient with them" he finishes his sentence wrapping his arms around me sobbing into my shirt and shaking uncontrollably
"That boy that helped you, please keep him he loves you so much it brought you back to life his love for you is endless, infinity he adores you, he could bring you back," my grandpa says
"he's perfect for you Devyn"
"we will be watching you from above always," they both say smiling at me and waving
"we love you" I can make out from their lips before I fall back to sleep.
