"No luck?"
Hongjoong shook his head in dismissal. Wooyoung sighed.
"It's alright. He is tired. Let's just go."
Wooyoung nodded his head and started walking. Yeosang and Hongjoong joined him a few feet apart.
"You really think he is tired?"
"Bullshit. He hasn't exited his room for almost a day now. Remember how much he looked forward to the ball? There is something he isn't telling us." Hongjoong answered Yeosang.
"Should one of us stay behind?" the advisor asked.
"No." the beta next to him declined.
"We will go and beat him up collectively after the ball."
Yeosang chuckled.
"Deal."
They joined Wooyoung in his attempt to find the ballroom.
"I think it's that way." he pointed a finger to one direction.
"Judging by the smells, probably the other way around." said the blond beta.
Eventually they found the place they were looking for.
Aurora's ballroom shone in deep blue and green. The carpet was like a big wave, moving through the whole room, which was in the shape of a rhombus. The furthest end had four thrones for royal family members.
All of the corners were filled with round tables, the fullest being near the King and Queen. The tables closer to them were not occupied or the people sitting by them had more modest attires.
"It's sorted by status and influence. The closer to the royals you sit, the more power you hold within the kingdom." Yeosang whispered as they went down the staircase.
"What's with the big space in the middle?" asked Wooyoung.
"That's for dancing."
"And where is the place for performers like me?"
"I assume it's on this end, somewhere between tables and the dance floor. They usually don't have singers so I guess you just need to stand near the dancers but not with your back to the royal family. That's considered awfully rude."
"That much I figured." Hongjoong said.
Wooyoung sat by one of the tables which was right next to the dance floor. Yeosang took place opposite him and Hongjoong sat between them.
"Nice table cloths." commented Wooyoung, touching the white material.
The blond beta rolled his eyes at that.
Servants moved quietly between tables and put various dishes before their eyes.
"I don't even have to stand!" the omega was in pure ecstasy.
"Oh, what a lucky day for you."
"What's got you so cranky?" Hongjoong asked, tasting Aurora's signature dishes, which were greasy meat and roasted nuts.
"Jongho has some meeting thing." Yeosang mumbled.
"Oh, so he won't come?" Wooyoung asked.
"He will, only a bit later."
"Then no worries until then, Yeo, I see you have aroused interest in some fine specimens here."
Hongjoong looked around curiously.
Indeed, even people by the higher ranking tables casted glances the blond's way.
Yeosang looked as stunning as ever, adorned in the kingdom's green colors, which only further accented his emerald eyes.
