Chapter 7: Fever

I touched my forehead i'm sweating

I'm starting to get dizzy

'No Hana don't pass out here'

I look at the map and there was a clinic near here

I stand up and start walking a few minutes later, I finally arrive at the clinic

I opened the gate there was a chicken I started walking and didn't notice the rope on the ground

Shit!

I heard a bottle making a sound the door opened and I saw kawada pointing his gun at me

"Why are you here?"

Before I could say anything I passed out

Kawada's POV

I opened the door and point the person a gun and to my surprise it was the girl who caught my eye she looks pale

"Why are you here?" I asked but before she could say anything she passed out

I run towards her and call her name multiple time

I don't know why but I'm scared to lost her

I touch her forehead, she was burning so hot she had a fever

I carried her and put her in the bed

After I treated her arm I look at her face she's so pretty

Wait what did I just said that she was pretty?

Do I like her? But I only met her earlier I didn't even remember her name

She started to move when she saw me she attempt to stand up but failed

"Wait! Just lie down in there your still having a fever" I said while looking at her in a concern face

She calmed down and looked glared at me

"Why are you helping me?" She asked coldly

"My dad's a doctor, believe it or not" I said while putting the things that I used to treat her arm on a box

Hana's POV

"You know what I didn't think that the food you cooked was so delicious, I'll be honest but I first I thought that the flavor of this food would be so horrible" I said while enjoying the food

"My dad's a chef" He said

"Cool" I said while smiling him

"You know what earlier you glared and looked at me coldly like I was an ant and now your smiling like a child infront of me, why is that?" He looked confused

"Because of the food" I plainly answered

We stayed quiet after a few minutes he speak

"I wasn't going to say anything but I guess I want you to know" He showed me a picture of a girl

"She's pretty" I said

"We're in the same class 9th Grade Class C, kobe junior high we were in this game three years ago"

"So you're a—" He cut me off

"Survivor of this fucking game" He showed his scar in his face

"I was so desperate to protect Keiko because she's like a sister to me I turned my gun on my bestfriend so the two of us would survive, really trusting someone is a hard thing to do but I've never understand the meaning of the smile she left behind" He said sadly

I just keep quiet I don't really know how to comfort people

"But why did you play this game again?" I asked

"They keep me back in the school and then dragged me here, to shake things up during the game but when I woke up here I vowed that I wasn't going to die on this island, Instead I'm going to figure out what keiko's last smile meant"

I looked at the photo on my hand and realize something

"I think I solved the riddle" I mumble

"You always protected her all the time you even killed your bestfriend so both of you can stay alive her parting words are thank you at the end"

He stand up and hugged me tightly not knowing what to do
I pat his back awkwardly

This is so awkward

"Thank you so much hana I promised I will protect you! I know a way off this island" He separate on hugging me

"How?" I asked

"I can only tell you when the time comes" I nodded

"What's your weapon by the way?" He asked curiously

"A riffle" I answered

"Great you got a good weapon umm"

"Hana Takashi" We smiled at each other we heard a gun shot

"That gunshot was familiar" I said and try to peeked at the window but kawada stopped me

"Probably the one guy who signed up willingly for this shit" He said

"You mean Kiriyama?"

"How did you know his name?" He looked at me suspiciously

"He's the one who bandage my injured arm earlier that psychopath"

"That was surprising" He said while still looking at me suspiciously
