One day left. That was the amount of time that you and Owen had together. Ever since you found out that Owen had to leave for Buffalo, you and him had spent every second together. Now all you had was less than 24 hours with him.

"What are you thinking about?" Owen asked while pushing the hair out of your face. You could feel him staring at you as you looked ahead.

"Nothing much" You say peering up at him with a smile.

"You sure? You seem like something's bothering you" Owen cupped your face. A small sigh passed your lips as you tried to contain yourself.

"Just thinking about how you're leaving tomorrow morning" You say quietly trying not to let your voice break. Owen didn't say anything he just pressed a kiss against your lips.

"It'll be okay" He whispers soothingly.

"Will it?" You ask. "I mean, I'm gonna be at Umich and you're gonna be traveling a lot. Can we really make this work?"

"Of course we can. I believe in us" Owen says running his hands through your hair. You just looked away from him and stood up.

"I don't know, Owen. We're young and what if eventually it gets too hard or if someone grows bored of the relationship" You say, the volume of your voice increases slightly.

"We can make it work. It won't be easy, but we can" Owen says. You wished you could believe what he was saying, but you couldn't. You've had a long distance relationship before and it ended in you getting cheated on. You couldn't do that again.

"Owen," You started quietly. owen knew what was coming. He shook his head as tears welled up in his eyes.

"No, don't do this y/n. Please don't" He pleaded. You closed your eyes and felt tears run down your face.

"I can't do this, Owen" You admit, your voice breaking slightly.

"Y/n, we can make it work. Please, I love you" Owen begs.

"I love you too, but it's just too hard" You tried to reason. You saw the tears escape his eyes and that made you feel even more like shit. No one said a word for a few minutes.

"I'm sorry" You said before running out of his room. You ignored everyone looking at you as you ran out of the Power household.

Instant regret piled up in your chest, but it was too late now. There was no going back.
