Someone from the past.

The sound of the bell signals that it's time for recess. Students begin to run in and out making utter chaos.

This is the typical scene at lunchtime in a school. With hundreds of students in a school, it is impossible to keep them all in their classrooms until the bell rings.

After sitting in my seat for a few hours, my body was feeling tense and cramped. Nonetheless, I made my way to the cafeteria, I was so focused on getting to the cafeteria, that I barely paid any attention to the people around me.

On the way, I felt someone poking my shoulder. I turned around to see who it was, only to find jihyo standing over and staring at me.

I was taken aback by her presence that I couldn't move. I was surprised that she had followed me there, as I had no idea she was always of where I was.

Jihyo's body language was also difficult to read. She had her arms crossed over her chest and her eyes were narrowed. She could have just been trying to figure out why I was heading to the cafeteria alone.

" Is there something you want to talk about?" I asked.

" Yes," she replied, her voice full of determination. She further added saying " Have lunch with me".

She had quite a lot of friends, so I was surprised by her request. She seemed determined to have lunch with me, and I was unsure of why she wanted to do so.

" Why?" I asked her and she beamed a smile.

" It's been too long since we last had lunch together, I thought it would be nice to catch up" she replied.

I was surprised by her response, wondering how she knew me and how it had been so long since we last caught up.

" you sure? You are not mistaking me for someone else right?" I asked. She frowned as she notice that i was puzzled and that I didn't remember her.

" Do we know each other?" I asked again.  It was strange because she seemed to know me and i couldn't remember how we had met or when we had last seen each other.

" Kiwy. Do you remember this name?" She asked. I had a difficulty understanding whatever she had been saying.

She groaned and grabbed my wrist, dragging me over to the cafeteria.

I was aware that being near Jihyo, everyone would throw me the very same look, the expression of lunacy. And that turned out to be true.

Popular kids tsk.

" Don't worry about those people" Jihyo reassured.

We took our food and sat at the table in the back, where we started eating. She was enjoying her meal in silence. I couldn't help but notice, she had this aura that was at once reassuring and familiar.

While we were busy shoving food in our mouth, the girls from the earlier group entered the cafeteria and sat behind the table as we were eating.

The girl was with them too. Despite the fact that she is my seat-mate, I haven't yet asked her name. She had a strange aura as compared to Jihyo as if she dislikes to be around me.

" Hey look, the oddball is sitting right next to us" One of the girls mumbled but it was loud enough to hear. As the other girls began to laugh, but the weirdo simply looked at me.

She is strange, thus a nice name for her might be Weirdo.

" Tell your so-called minions to stop talking, Sana. Let us enjoy our well-earned break in peace"
Jihyo glanced at Sana before speaking. As she says so, she had stern eyes.

so that weirdo's name is sana.

As Sana and Jihyo exchanged angry glances, the atmosphere became tense. The so-called minions were afraid to speak up because they knew that as Jihyo was president, she could easily report them to the principal.

Sana was the first person to look away. She simply got up from her seat and left the cafeteria. Jihyo sighed as she turned to face me

"Don't let these people bad mouth you. Even though they may believe themselves to be powerful or glamorous, they are all just students." Jihyo said.

Once our break is over, we leave the cafeteria and make our way to class a short while later.

"I appreciate you joining me for lunch," I said.

She replied as she gave me a look "Still, it would have been nice if you had remembered me". I couldn't help but feel sorry. I wondered how we knew each other.

She was the first to enter the classroom, taking her seat. I walk to my seat when I noticed Sana seated there with her head down.

I simply moved over to the vacant chair next to her because I had no intention of speaking with her.
As she straightens her stance and scans me, Sana appears to have realised my presence.

"I apologise for earlier," she says, shifting her gaze forward. I was surprised by what she said, but I kept quiet about it. The bell sounds, indicating that class is about to start.

I hope the class ends soon.
