Flashback

Stiles was fed up with this pack of ungrateful people. Well, in the pack, he didn't count Erica and Peter. They were adorable with him. They considered him a full member of the pack.

He sighed as he ran his hands over his face. It was decided. He wouldn't do the research. He was going to text Derek and screw them.

- Son. I thought there was a pack meeting.

- There is one. But I got fired for researching a creature lurking in Hale territory. I have a vague description and you're on your own. But I'm not going to deal with it.

- If you came with me to the seminary.

- Do you think I can?

- Of course.

- Thank you dad. I'm just telling Peter and Erica and then I'm going to pack my bags.

He decided to send the message to Derek when he was driving the next morning. That way, there's no risk of the alpha coming to threaten or hurt him.

He watched his father as they did.

- What ?

- I usually am, but I admit I've never been so much. Said his father.

- What are you talking about, dad?

- Pride.

He's blushing.

During the seminar, he had been himself. Which means curious and talkative. But he hit the mark every time, interesting the people around him. His monologues scaring no one.

- Several sheriffs have asked me to do an internship with them. They gave me their contact details.

- I will think about it.

His father smiled at him.

- Good. Dress yourself up, daddy, because I saw that Sheriff Mackalister liked you.

- Stiles.

- What ? It's true. Then she is only three hours away from home. You could keep in touch.

- I do not know if...

- Dad. You've been a widower for nine years. You can have someone.

- Let's hope I still know how to woo a woman.

- You will only have to offer a drink to Mackalister and she will fall into your arms seeing her looks.

- Stiles!

He laughs at his father's blushes.

They were at the end of the seminar. He was talking with some sheriff when the one leading the seminar made an announcement. Serious attacks had taken place. He needed everyone's help.

His father asked him to return to the hotel. He agreed, knowing he couldn't disobey his father in front of the other sheriffs.

He was trying to occupy himself by arranging the bestiary he always had on him when his father entered the room they shared.

- Son, I'm going to need your help.

- My help ?

- Yes. These are not normal attacks.

He showed her pictures of the victims.

- You begin to recognize the signs of the paranormal.

- I would have preferred not to know that the supernatural exists. But it is so.

He smiles. Smile that disappeared when looking at the photos again.

I need to go to the scene of the attacks.

- I marked everything for you.

He gave her a sheet.

- I have to go back. Take care of yourself.

- Like always.

He saw him sigh as he ran his right hand over his face.

- That doesn't reassure me at all. But hey, I have no choice.

- I call you from time to time. How are you?

- Yes. It will already be that.

After a quick hug, her father left. Him, after having saved his modifications on the computer, he left on the first place.

It was in the fifth place that he saw him. A young man in his early thirties, wearing an old leather jacket that came out of an impala.

Her first lover, her first wound.

He snapped out of his memories feeling someone move his shoulder and call him.

- Son. How are you ? I called you several times.

- Sorry. I was lost in my thoughts. And there are many of them as you know. What's the matter ?

- We're taking a break.

- All right.

He got out of the car to stretch his legs and clear his head by splashing cold water on his face.

The next hours of driving, it was he who would do them. His father needed to rest.
