"Shall I sit there?"
I walked first and sat on the chair. The one in front of me where my partner was supposed to sit was empty. It was 'Leaders of Kpop' documentary we were shooting. The idea had been developing for a while, and in between the tour, I was asked to come back for the shoot during the couple of day offs I had. I was more than happy to be busy, so I came. I didn't want a break. Not at all. Not right now.
"How are you feeling about this?" The staff asked, and the camera focused on me. "We're going to have a raw conversation between you and other kpop leader."
"I've gone through the possible questions, yes. It's weird a little because I've never been open about my leadership values, so..." I smiled. "But, I'm sure this will be a nice experience."
"We're showing you the video of your partner and his take on this show. Would you like to guess who he is?"
I shrugged. "I'll try."
The moment the blurred figure appeared on the screen I knew my worst fear had come true. Jungwon was right. It was Choi Soobin from TXT. Of course the only guy I had to be partnered with was from the group with which I had an apparent beef in the public. My fans and their fans hated, despised each other. Goodness. I controlled my reaction though. I had to handle it maturely.
"I think I know who he is." I clapped, hiding my uneasiness. "TXT leader, Soobin. His height gives him away."
Facing Soobin in the real life was easy. Going back and forth with our cruel words was easy. But facing him in front of the camera, managing my expression, oh it was not so easy. I stood up when he entered the room, and bowed to him in respect. Soobin bowed back, and smiled. I knew that smile was painfully forced, he was as scared as I was of this scene.
The hostility we had for each other shouldn't be shown in this place.
We took our seats, and the staff gave us our first question. 'Introduce each other creativly and compliment what you like about the other leader.'
I faced him. "Sunbae is a leader of the famous kpop group, TXT. They're Anti-romantic and sees devil by the window whenever they look out." I laughed at Soobin's surprised reaction to my pun.
"That's really creative," he praised. "Violet is the leader of YG group Midnight Blues, and she has the longest trainee period. She looks like an ice princess, but since I've met her a lot of times, I can tell she's more of a strawberry ice cream person. Not princess."
Soobin glanced at the staff and covered his face with his hands. "Ah what to do. I'm bad at this. "
I chuckled. "No no. You actually reminded me of this incident. Soobin Sunbae gave me an ice cream one time. He was really kind."
The questions went back and forth. (Interview will be released in the next chapter.)
"Dating life." I read the question and paused. "Woah. That's a controversial question."
I looked at Soobin, and he watched me carefully. "Do you want to go first?" he asked, and I chuckled.
Yep. Laugh whenever you were uncomfortable. Classic me.
"There are a lot of assumptions around my dating life, and I kind of accept this invasion of privacy since I'm an idol." I bit my lip. "But, sometimes I do feel like... I mean I just want to be less anxious around this topic."
