"I love you," Tom Sawyer said to Becky Thatcher. They were twelve years old, but Tom knew they were soul mates. Becky was nervous about the affair, but she trusted Tom, even though they had just met recently.
The couple had engaged the previous week and were planning their honeymoon. Because they were so young, they didn't quite understand marriage.
"C'mon, Becky! Say it back," Tom pleaded.
"I-I love you."
"Thanks, Becky!" Tom said with a boyish grin. "Say, do you have any warts?"
"No way, no how! Warts disgust me." Becky replied.
"But we could sneak out at midnight with a dead cat," Tom said with a wink.
"Then yes, of course!" Becky replied excitedly.
And so, that night, they snuck out and met at the graveyard. A dead corpse lay exposed with dry blood splattered around his neck, so they kicked it out of the way, of course.
Tom hoisted the dead cat into the air and shouted an incantation. The cat came alive and screamed, "Oh my goodness!"
