Rabbits hopped quietly in the meadow, along the rode we had built our very own house on. The sunrise glimmered along with the ripples present in the river, giving the area a soft, yellow glow.
"It's awfully romantic here, George," Lennie said unconsciously.
"Yeah..." lost in his own thoughts, George whispered a mere reply to the man next to him.
"Ya still think about gettin' yourself a girl?" Lennie asked, afraid of what the answer may be or if George will snap at him once again.
There was a slight pause before George's reply, surprised by the question that just had been asked.
"No, 'cause I found everything I need here with you."
