01. name day

IT WAS AEGON'S SECOND NAME DAY

Daena was four, and name day was approaching aswell. she held her mother's hand as she walked with her to the carriage 

"You look beautiful today mama" Daena says to her mother before she eneters the carriage. Alicent smiles at her oldest daughter before helping her in the carriage by picking her up as daena takes a seat beside Rhaenyra.

"Hi Princess" Daena greeted. She pulled a pillow in the carriage to sit behind her and grabbed another one for her mother as the maid took it and gave it to the Queen.

Viserys takes his seat and they're joined by a few maids, one of them takes little Aegon from Alicent, holding the young boy while she tried to make herself as comfortable as possible.

"Well isn't this splendid? The whole of our family is off to celebration and adventure in the Kingswood," King Viserys, her father, states. Daena felt sorry for him as to how hard he was trying to help the family be fixed. The carriage hits a rough Rock, causing the carriage to shake, and Alicent grips the bench she was sitting on tightly.

"Should you be traveling in such a condition?" Rhaenyra asked her old friend

"The maesters said that being out in nature would do me well," Alicent responds. Viserys was offering Aegon a sip of his drink "You will be with your child sooner than late and make me a proud grandsire."

Daena looked over at Rhaenyra, who stared at her father as though he had gone mad. "It's not so bad," Alicent says, "The days are long, but Daena and Aegon came quickly and without fuss." Alicent lied through her teeth 

Rhaenyra could tell she was trying to comfort both her and Daena, as Rhaenyra had been in the room when Daena was born. she knew how sick alicent had become after Daena was born. Rhaenyra would even go as far to say that she was worried for her friend.

"You should ride out with me today," King Viserys says, "Join in the chase."

"I'd rather not," Rhaenyra says, "The boars squeal like children when they're being slaughtered. I find it discomforting." Daena played with her nails as she scratched her skin to avoid causing tension

"I can stay with you if you want," Daena whispers to her older sister, who smiles, puts an arm around Daena and pulls her closer. Rhaenyra knew her claim would be challenged, but she couldn't blame her two younger siblings; they were inncoent 

The rest of the carriage ride is spent in silence and everyone can hear the applause as they reach the camp in the Kingswood. Alicent and Viserys stepped out first to step with Aegon. The maids follow,

Rhaenyra was hesitant to step out but Daena pulled her by the hand with s smile innocently as they both stepped out as the louder applause was heard when the two Princesses stepped out 

 They head inside a tent where King Viserys is preparing for the hunt with his guards. The two of them split as Rhaenyra finds herself amongst gossiping ladies while Daena finds herself at the snack table

She wants picks up a strawberry from the table on where she had to go on her tiptoes to reach it. she struggles to reach the table height as she feels a big pair of hands around her waist lifting her up to help her grab the strawberry. she quickly takes one and looks behind her to see Ser Harwin and she smiles at him. as he does back.

"Thank you Ser" Daena says as holds onto Ser Harwin's armor as she eats the strawberry. As Rhaenyra leaves the gossiping Table of laides she notices her sister in the arms to Ser Harwin 

she approaches the two as Ser Harwin quickly notices the Targaryen heir."Princess" Ser Harwin greets as Daena looks up and waves and Rhaenyra with one hand "I see you both have taken and liking to each other" Rhaenyra smiles as Ser Harwin hands the small Daena to Rhaenyra.

This was the first time Rhaenyra held her in four years. the last time she held her was the first time she held her and she was a little babe. Rhaenyar was shocked as No one had dared to bring the young Daena near the troubled heir, so was confused on how to hold her

Luckily daena made herself comfortable in her sister's arms, which helped relax her sister as she went deep into Rhaenyra's neck and held onto Rhaenyra's shoulders.

Ser Harwin and Rhaenyra stared at each other for a while not knowing what to do in each other's presnace. they smiled at each other and stared into each other's eyes before Rhaenyra spoke up "Thank you Ser for looking after her" Rhaenyra said referring to Daena

"My pleasure princess, sweet kid she is" Harwin said before a maid called Rhaenyra over as she exuucued her self from Ser hHarwin with Daena still in her arms. Jason lannister requested her presence so Rhaenyra set her sister down

"Go find your mother" Rhaenyra said as patted her on the head before walking off with a sigh. Daena watched her leave before she started to look for her mother 

once she found her she sat with her mother on her lap as she noticed aegon played with a maid on the floor 

a few hours of just lying there Daena was growing bored of the ladies surrounding her. yes she loved to listen in but she also found a lot of there talks boring but also liked to know the problem between Lannisters and the Tyrells about women getting pregnant with sister betrothed as she found that entertaining and funny 

"Marriage proposals, all. And I have tried often to discuss it with you, but you've refused me at every turn" The sound of her father's voice caused Daena to lift her head from her mother's chest.

"That is because I do not wish to get married" Rhaenyra yelled at him as more eyes begin to look upon them

"Even i do not exsist between tradition and duty, Rhaenyra!" Viserys yelled in his daughters face losing all the energy he had in him. "Excuse me your Grace" Otto Hightower called for him

Viserys looked up to see all of the lord and ladies in the tent staring at them. "You must marry" Viserys insisted as he walked away with Otto Hightower.

Daena saw Rhaenyra with water in her eyes, threatening to spill. Daena wished to go over and hug her but Rhaenyra stormed out before she could even move from her mother. wondering where her sister went
