[Prohibition Grille
Everett, Washington
April 26, 2013]

Gordon: How do you rate your food, and what do you give your food out of ten?

Rishi: I give our food a ten.

Gordon: A ten?

Rishi: Yeah, I think it's amazing. I love everything on the menu—

Gordon: Okay great, nice meeting you.

Rishi: Nice to meet you too Chef Ramsay, thanks for coming. And enjoy your lunch today, okay?

Gordon: Thank you.

[Rishi goes back to the kitchen]

[Gordon talks to the camera]: What a bizarre dress sense from the owner. I mean, she looks like she's in a fancy dress Britney Spears concert party.

[Rishi sets a table as Candace, the waitress, enters the scene at Gordon's table]

Gordon: Hello.

Candace: [speaks cheerfully] Hello, I am Candace. How are you?

Gordon: [unintelligible]

Candace: Very nice to meet you.

Gordon: It's good to see you too.

Candace: So, did Rishi get a chance to go over the menu with you?

Gordon: Um, she did briefly. Let's order, shall we?

Candace: Okay.

Gordon: What's the soup of the day?

Candace: The soup of the day is jalapeño corn chowder.

Gordon: What was it yesterday?

Candace: Jalapeño corn chowder.

Gordon: Oh, so soup of two days.

Candace: And last week.

[Dramatic music plays and Gordon looks disappointed]

Gordon: Ah, so soup of the week.

Candace: It's soup of the week! [Candace jokes]

Gordon: Soup of the week. [he jokes]

Candace: Yes. [she laughs]

[They both stop chatting and Gordon begins to order]

Gordon: Um, let's go with the filet.

Candace: How would you like that prepared?

Gordon: Um, medium rare please.

Candace: Medium rare... [Candace writes it down]

Gordon: Let's go for the collared greens as well... The sides? The balsamic brown sugar glazed salmon and do you know what? Throw me in a portion of the pan fried oysters.

Candace: Okay, we'll get that started for you. [Candace smiled]

Gordon: Thanks.

Candace: Thank you.

[Candace takes Gordon's menu]

Gordon: Thank you.

[Candace goes back to the kitchen to give the order to the cook]

Candace: Oookay sooo, here's my list. So we're gonna do the oysters, so why don't I start with a cup of soup.

Cook: [speaks with little excitement in his voice] Okay dokie.

Candace: Yeah? Kay.

[Rishi returns to Gordon's table while his food is being prepared]

Rishi: I was just seeing what you ordered, I thought those were really great choices—

Gordon: I—

Rishi: Our oysters are wonderful here and my chef always makes the best soups.

Gordon: Can I just let you in to a little secret?

Rishi: Sure!

Gordon: Not in front of your customers. Can I whisper?

Rishi: Sure. [Rishi leans closer to Gordon]

Gordon: [Gordon whispers] Soup of the day is not soup of the day. It's the same soup that was on two weeks ago.

Rishi: [looks confused] What's that mean?

Gordon: Soup of the day—means a daily change in soup.

Rishi: [looks surprised and a little sad] oh... [pause] I didn't even know what...soup of the day meant.

[Gordon is shocked]

Rishi: I thought that just meant what soup we were serving that day.

Gordon: Wow...

Rishi: Yeah, that was lame.

[Gordon is still shocked]

Rishi: Soup...of the...day. A new soup every day. Okay, I'm going to talk to 'em about that.

[Rishi walks away and Gordon talks to the camera]

Gordon: Wow. [he laughs and puts his hands on his face]

[Rishi talks to an employee in the back of the restaurant]

Rishi: I didn't realize that soup of the day meant a fresh soup every day.

Employee: Yeah.

Rishi: I thought soup of the day meant what is our soup for the day.

[Employee laughs]

Rishi: I'm not that stupid it's just...that's what I understood that meant. [Rishi takes a sip of bottled water]

[The show cuts to cooks cooking in the kitchen]

Cook: [calls out] Candace please?

[Candace arrives and takes the plate of food to Gordon]

Candace: Chef Ramsay, here is our soup.

Gordon: Thank you.

[Candace sets his soup down on the table]

Gordon: Thank you my darling.

Candace: Okay. [she leaves the table]

Gordon: [talks to the camera] Wow, soup of the week.

[Gordon tries the soup]

Gordon: [speaks in a disgusted tone] Mm, that's just slop. Horrible, nasty gloop with some sort of— [he blows on the plate] dusting around the outside of the plate.

[Rishi returns to Gordon]

Rishi: Did you have a chance to taste the soup?

Gordon: Yeah, I had a chance, yes.

Rishi: Okay, and?

Gordon: Uh, yeah, just er—not nice. Gnarly.

Rishi: Should I just get that outta here?

Gordon: Uh, yes please.

Rishi: Kay.

Gordon: Thanks, when was the last time you tasted it?

Rishi: Umm, I haven't tasted it.

Gordon: You didn't have the soup?

Rishi: I haven't had the soup. [Rishi shakes her head]

Gordon: Wow.

[Rishi takes Gordon's plate and leaves]
