The next day, John stumbled into work, bleary-eyed and exhausted. He tried to focus on his tasks, but his mind kept drifting back to the events of the night before. He knew he couldn't keep living like this, but he didn't know where to turn.

uring his lunch break, John decided to take a walk around the neighborhood. He passed by a quaint little coffee shop that he had never noticed before. The sign outside read "Maggie's Cafe," and the smell of fresh coffee and baked goods wafted out the door.
John hesitated for a moment, but the thought of a warm cup of coffee was too tempting to resist. He pushed open the door and stepped inside.
The interior of the cafe was cozy and welcoming. The walls were lined with bookshelves filled with old novels, and a fireplace crackled in the corner. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee mixed with the scent of cinnamon and sugar from the baked goods on display.
John made his way to the counter and ordered a black coffee. As he waited for his drink, he couldn't help but notice a woman sitting at a table by the window. She was reading a book and sipping on a latte, her eyes focused on the pages in front of her.
John's order was ready, and he grabbed his coffee and made his way to an empty table. As he sat down, he couldn't help but steal a glance at the woman by the window. She looked up and caught his eye, giving him a small smile before returning to her book.
John took a sip of his coffee and felt the warmth spread through his body. He took a deep breath and decided to strike up a conversation.
"Excuse me," he said, approaching her table. "Do you mind if I join you?"
The woman looked up and smiled. "Not at all," she said. "Please, have a seat."
