bucky sat at the dimly-lit dining room table, watching as sam prattled on about first impressions and cheesy pick-up lines. the veteran had been nursing the last drops of his beer for the past half hour, his mind wandering to the soothing buzz of alcohol that he craved. he wouldn't get it though. this whole online dating thing would go down so much smoother if he was even in the vicinity of drunk.
when sam came bearing a flashy new iphone bucky knew it would be trouble. there was nothing wrong with the flip phone he had used thus far , it was hard to track , slim in his pocket , easy to hand up - sure the buttons were a bit small but it's not like metal and a touch screen mixed. admittedly, the newness of an iphone intrigued him. of course sam was sure to give bucky his sixth beer and import pictures of alpine before nudging him towards setting up a dating profile. naturally they bickered about it but a particular sentence from sam caught bucky's attention, drowning out all the other arguments.
