Burpy wasn't sure if it was fear or courage that he was feeling deep down. All he knew that it was getting stronger the more he and the female friends he made today went through the path the Slug Hunters went through. There were traces of wheels in the dirt that Emily somehow was able to track and identify their exact trail. It was like Emily was the ultimate huntress or something.
When Emily stopped her tracking, she raised her hand in a position that meant to be a sign. Burpy knew Eli did those hand signals before, with the one being presented signaling for them to be cautious and sneaky. She let one of her slugs, a Hypnogriff, to scout ahead for an area that they can watch without being seen.
"Be careful, Calypso," Emily also told the Hypnogriff.
"Another slinger that names their slugs," Burpy thought to himself. Maybe once they rescue Eli, they can talk about these girls, including the mystery about Emily.
Calypso looked through the bushes although it moved more farther as it checked. When it got to the fourth bush, it chirped back as if it finally found something. It beckoned the group to come to one of the bushes that was just 3 inches away from their previous spot. When Willow opened up the bush to let everyone see, Burpy felt his heart drop.
There they were, all of the Slug Hunters in the same area. Sitting by a small campfire as if trying to even look innocent. But one look at the west side showed something else. Eli stood there frozen and a bit greenish due to the effects of the Neotox gas.
Every time the gas would fade away and Eli was on the verge of moving, Blite, without moving from his seat, would shoot another Neotox in order for the paralysis to continue.
"This is not good for him. Having that much Neotox gas in the lungs will definitely make him nauseated." Lupe suddenly said.
"Carrying him would be hard enough," Emily said. She turned to Lupe, "do you still have that antidote for Neotox paralysis with you?"
Lupe smirked and laid down a bag she had with her as she opened it and rummaged through it. Burpy, Doc, and the others watched as she pulled out a vial of silver liquid and another vial that had green liquid and was somehow fizzy like it was soda.
"We can first administer the antidote once we get him out of the gas. Then, we'll have to neutralize some of the toxins that are still in the lungs with this, which would cause him to release it out in a...natural way."
Emily nodded in agreement with the fact. She raised the palm of her hand so that Burpy can hop on it as she helped him get to the ground, "got a plan in mind, new friend?"
Burpy thought about that. They wanted to be quick about rescuing Eli in order to administer medicine to him, but they also didn't want to be caught by the hunters. He chirped of what he thought of, as Emily listened and relayed to with the other girls.
"Burpy says that we're splitting into teams. Burpy, his buddies, and I will take care of Eli and the Neotox fog, since they are the ones that cannot be affected by the fog and I can carry him. The two of you can do some sneaky surprise attacks to get them distracted without being spotted. As if they got bug bites that won't go away."
Lupe and Willow nodded as they agreed to the idea. Then, with Burpy coming back onto Emily's right shoulder, the group began the plan by first splitting up.
The Human and Infurnus simply walked despite being crouched down so the bushes would not reveal them. As Emily came close to the gas, she covered her nose and mouth so that she wouldn't breathe any traces that would come at her direction.
Spinner spat out a strong of silk that got attached to Eli's back. Emily carefully pulled the silk so that Eli's frozen body wouldn't get hurt. One gentle tug after another.
